Just noticed that we established league marks for points scored (48), passing yards (417) and total yards (542) today. If we don't clinch the #1 seed next week, Lincoln and Sierra could end up with some *sick* numbers. However, there's a chance that next week will be their last game of the year.

Embarrassing loss. My team takes SOOOO many penalties. We're gonna screw around and blow our playoff spot!

HUGE win versus Las Vegas, our division leader. Riding a 4 game win streak, we are only 1 game back now. There are some areas of concern, first and foremost is our inability to score more than 17 points in the last 3 games. My field goal kicker has been my saving grade during this stretch. RUBISCO, I was watching your score during the entire game, and you had to win at the end. You punk!

I'm convinced that the playcalling AI is absolutely braindead in clutch situations. I've seen it time and time again.

            I'm done.
Looking at the box score, weren't you down by 13 points ?? Probably had to bomb it to have a chance. Running on 2nd a 3rd and long isn't good though.

5 minutes left, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think that calls for every pass to be thrown 20 yards downfield. We should have plenty of time for one methodical drive, especially with all 3 timeouts left.

Your "go to hurry up offense" setting might have kicked in.

Trust me, I feel your pain. I'm also convinced that the AI doesn't even look at how many time out's you have left, it's like they are a complete non-factor.

And seriously, when is the last time you watched an NFL game, with a team down 2 TD's with 5 mins to go, and they threw bomb after bomb? I can't recall a game like that EVER.

Don't forget that just because it says "long" it deosn't mean "bomb." In FOF-speak, "long" passes are anything 19 yards or more.

Ok, still, when is the last time a team threw 4 straight 20 yard passes? With 5 mins to go, you'd be throwing 10 yard underneath passes to move the ball. Maybe a deep shot here and there, but you're not airing it out over and over again.

One methodical drive will kill five minutes. You're down by two scores and want a methodical drive downfield? Did you forget that you have to kick off to another team that also has an offense? One that's beating you and only needs two or three first downs to render your timeouts worthless?

If I was your opponent I'd be THRILLED every time you threw short or ran the ball. THRILLED. High fives on the sideline with the DC.

Two touchdowns - not just two scores. Five minutes to go. Not a good time for Martyball. ;)

Just my opinion. I don't think the game designer screwed you. :)

Wow, ok, so maybe methodical wasn't the right word. However, there's no need to throw the ball over 20 yards on every pass attempt.

I've seen it on more than one occasion. Playing from behind late in the game, the offensive playcalling is terrible. I guess it's just a bug we have to live with.

I'm with you on that Sully. Maybe I just haven't figured out the adjustments yet (though I've tried just about everything), but my team just starts lobbing up deep balls when we get behind. Down 6 this week and just started airing it out. With my QB, you might as well just call the game off at that point.

I admit, it's not the only way to go, but it's hard to argue against trying to get the first of the two touchdowns you need as fast as possible, otherwise, by the time you get the ball back, if you do at all, you're not going to have the luxury of hitting the dump off in the flat. It's simplistic, but understandable, and I think more than forgiveable. Watch the fourth quarter of Super Bowl 38. The Eagles just handed the Patriots the title by slowly moving down the field late in the game to get the first of two scores they needed - while having to kick the ball back to an almost unstoppable Corey Dillon. Bruschi, Harrison and Crennel almost couldn't believe their good fortune that the Eagles weren't going deep to T.O. over and over again. Especially since the hacks the Patriots had at cornerback couldn't cover him.
