My PM back to you was terse and made mention of the fact that I wasn't surprised. Hell, I didn't even mention you by name in this thread until you popped up to identify yourself and chuckle about the fact that you were quitting, so I wouldn't exactly say I went out of my way to "blast" you. Anyway, I let you into this league despite the widely-held knowledge that you have an incredibly short attention span when it comes to playing one game for longer than a week. That's not a dig or anything, but it is a fact. And in a league like this that's supposed to span multiple seasons, that's not really a great formula for success. And lo, much to nobody's surprise, you're quitting.

Shit, I can't even DOWNLOAD THE LEAGUE FILES when they are updated twice a week and my team sucks, but I'm still here. Someone has to send me the file every time, because my computer won't download from this site correctly. That's a huge pain in the ass. At least that would be a decent reason for quitting - not being able to even download the league files. But nope, I'm a man, and I'm still here.

Seriously, good riddance man. I, along with many others, are excited for the offseason to start shaping our teams OUR OWN WAY through Free Agency and the Draft.

If you weren't such a whiny little quitter, maybe you could do the same and enjoy the game. Plenty of us got shafted by the initial draft, but we didn't give up like you.

Oh well, at least we'll get a non-douchebag owner in here.

So much bitterness in such a sweet league. Its sad to see someone giving up early for any reason other than a lack of time for the game or other circumstances, but if thats the case, so be it.

Lets not cast a bad light on the league by being over the top though.. Just let the guy go and maybe pass the word to other commissioners. Its unfortunate, but nothing to go crazy over. We'll find someone better and learn from it, right?

Seriously man, lighten up. EG quietly PM'd the commish of the league letting him know he was stepping down after the season was over. He said he'd continue to operate his team until a replacement was found. If someone is going to quit, I sure hope they handle it the way EG did. Just because you enjoy the game doesn't mean everyone else has to. And the namecalling? Uncalled for...

While that may be true, its just a matter of being civil to me. Its a game, a text based game. We have owners here who for the extreme majority are very good owners. If one guy wants to pull his name from the hat and quit, his loss. If you want to make it hurt, there are plenty of other ways to do it rather than flaming. No big deal to me either way, whats done is done.. But I agree with Sully- EG didn't rape our sisters or anything.

I wish there was a way for us to get a good old fashioned group hug going to kind of ease the tension.. I feel like I need a cigarette. But then again, I'm a pacifist hippie. :)

Well hey, this thread has spiraled out of control....

Please only continue to post in this thread to state your desire to leave or stay. Any more crap and I'm just going to lock it up. That's kind of why I titled the thread, "Are you leaving," and not something more along the lines of, "Let's all verbally berate other owners in the league." I would lock the thread and delete the offending posts, but hopefully cooler heads will prevail from here on out because I hate those web sites and blogs where people remove things after they're posted.

Years from now, we'll all look back at these posts and share a good laugh. Especially if PhantomLord's team still sucks as much as it does now.
