  • Coach Draft?

    So how does this work?

Is every team redrafting every coach or only for openings they would have?

I see that Motor City picks last in the draft. Was this random? Does it mean I pick last for every single coaching position? Or does it snake?

If it doesn't snake and is random, doesn't that mean I am kinda of screwed right off the bat because coaches in this version are pretty important from what I've read so far?

Any answers would be helpful. Thanks.

Hey, from what I understand, you'll get one shot in this game to re-sign your coaches who are in the final year of their contract. I'm not sure what that is, but one stage is it (ouch).

The order should be based on finances.

As for the draft itself, I think any team can jump in and make a move at any time, or not (if they're happy with who they have). So it's not really like a 'draft' the way the Amateur Draft is; it's just a more organized coach hiring period that's still based on teams with the strongest finances getting the first crack at whomever on the open market they want. I'll defer to people who have actually played the game, though.

By the way, apparently finances work a little differently in this game, so a few of you guys *cough*Ozias*cough*AndTheNewUtahOwnerSinceICopiedH im* may want to remember to change your ticket prices, especially the luxury box ones. I hear Rex does a good job recommending ticket prices now.

Picking last is pretty crappy, yeah.

For coaches you have, but don't want to keep, put 100 so they'll be replaced. For instance, my OC specializes in DL. What? Buh bye.

Coaches are more important, but they're not as important as players because you can use Training Camp to make up coaching deficiencies (ie. more defense if your DC sucks).

Coach draft is easiest using in game. Once you have reuped any coach you want to keep...as long as he is in his last year of the contract,...you will go to a coach preference screen. Here you set how high your preference would be to sign or keep a coach. If you want to replace a guy, set it to 100. If you set it lower, the game will only replace him if there is a better coach available. Keep in mind that your coaches are now your scouts as well.

As for finances and ticket prices, REX the ticket prices or you will be sorry!!
