    Reminder on FA contract caps:


    you can offer:

    1 yr max $3mil
    2 yr max $6mil (total, meaning 3mil avg per year)

    Anything 3 years or more is open/fair game (meaning, you may offer as much or as little per year as you wish, as long as the deal is 3+ years long).

      Does this 3 yr contract rule stand for RFA?

        nope restricted free agents you can offer what ever you like

        also during the FA 2 stages you are no longer restricted on contracts to any player

          Which means that the undrafted rookie free agents are a free for all and you can do silly things like offer $10 mil for one season. Why do that? Because they'll be a RFA next year and you can sign them for a more reasonable rate.

          That isn't the greatest strategy anymore because (a) how much you pay a player affects how much they want in the future (sometimes) and (b) financial profits determine how high or low in the staff draft you rank.
