Well, you need to interview sixty players to search for compatability to your team and whether or not your Scout agrees with the rankings. Then you can build your draft list off of your needs.

If we're using the same draft utiltiy as most of the FOF, then you simply log into the utility with your forum name and password. It'll show your picks. Then you build the draft list within the utility and set it to ON. That one's important. A lot of guys will build their list but not set it to ON and they'll hold up the entire draft. We'll have a certain time limit for drafting a player at each position. If we go over that, then usually the highest rated player in your areas of needs are drafted for you.

The picks can be made automatically when turned to ON. It could take a few minutes to a few days. So, it's wise then to have at least a few potential draftees that you like in each position and prioritized. The utility will remove the players you selected when you, or another g.m., takes 'em.

          Pretty simple.

The draft utility isn't something you have to download, it is based on the web, you set up your list there, and it runs according to that. When Skerik gets it all set up, it will be much more clear and easy to explain, but think of it as an draft board similar to one you might use on yahoo to draft your fantasy team. You pick a group of players, put them in the order you rate them, and when it comes to your pick, if youre not around to make the pick, the highest player left on your board will be taken automatically by the CPU.

At least thats how the eNFL system works, and our draft only took 4 or 5 days this year. if everyone sets up their list and makes sure to activate it when they aren't around, the draft flies by very quickly.

Online only? So we create an account I suppose so it can save our lists?

Yeah it saves your lists and then updates the list every time one of your prospects is drafted by another team. . .pretty slick and fast. The key to this utility is that everybody has to set the thing to the ON position!

You'd be surprised at how many people forget to turn it on!

It should be part of the OSFL site. . .a link will take you there with the entire list of draftees. You build your draft candidates and save 'em. Turn 'em on, and the picks will run automatically.

This sounds too easy, why all the concern over how long a draft takes?

Because it sucks when your pick is only a few spots away and you dont know if its going to be 3 hours or 3 minutes until you pick. If everyone has their list set and turned on when they're not available, things run much more smoothly and there is less frustration. I like to make all my picks myself, but if I am going to be gone for a while, I make sure to set my list and just hope I get back in time to make my selection.

Another reason to set your list to pick for you when youre not around is so you won't miss your pick like Minnesota did a few years back. I've seen teams fall a whole round before making their selection in MP leagues simply because they didnt set their list and turn it on, and they weren't around to make their pick. Thats like trading down for nothing.

And finally, rather than spending a week or two on a draft, I want to get my guys and then I want to see them play. I'm impatient that way. :) Trust me, once you pick a few guys, you'll be chomping at the bit to get to training camp and see how they pan out. Unless youre weird or something.. :)
