The yearly showdown of the rookies and the young players is here!!

Undrafted Casey Ramsey grabbed 6 balls of 7 threw to him, this is a good way to start to earn a roster spot.

Safety Lenny Joyner collected 17 tackles and he displayed a Master Class of coverage allowing only 1 catch in 31 pass plays. I knew that he is a great 3rd round pick!!

Anxious to get home and see the progressions!!

The big reveal of Ex2 has come. There were some big veteran disappointments (ouch, Artie Samuels! Still a nice pass blocker, at least) but a few outstanding showings from the young guys. We might have tradeable depth at corner -- or maybe more accurately, someone needs to move to safety.

Outside of the TC2 reveals (haven't seen em yet!) I think the preseason is a complete and total waste of time, just like in the real NFL.

I have to disagree, I love the young guys coming in and performing despite his ratings, I kept more than one player thanks to his pre-season action and performed also in the regular season like in the NFL

That's awesome for you (seriously), but I find very little value in playing against teams who are potentially playing 2nd or 3rd or 4th stringers.

It makes it nearly impossible to determine who is actually performing and who looked good because the other guy(s) sucked.

Too much noise in the data.

          Small sample size.

          Etc.

Think of it as an extended opportunity to make trades or roster moves (or, if you're set, to just sit around :-P).

This year should be quieter compared to last for Boston, when we cycled through 20 or so players during the preseason. However, if a roster spot opens up due to injury or something, it's a chance to sign a mentor who wouldn't make the final 53 to bolster development at a position for a few weeks -- or an affinity who will hopefully get injured and stay around on the team on IR.

Look my 2nd Year TE Cameron Hooper he just went +4/+4 and with that bars will be an excellent blocker for Grauman and a good catcher in the middle of the field... Probably my future 2nd TE for years and this year the 3rd one after Oliveira and Rodriguez...

He's a rookie, unless you meant someone else.

But that's beside the point, I'm not saying the preseason doesn't tell us things (Pre2 reveals rating changes) but the games themselves are more or less irrelevant.

I hate it because you lose too many guys to injury before the season even starts. You spend the off season putting together a team and then they can't play.

That said, my preseason game sucked. We lose 20-12 and give up back to back pick sixes. Two plays. Two picks. 14 points for Columbus. 11 seconds apart. Nice.

Is there still a change tracker?

I do almost never play my starters in pre-season until the last game or maybe the 3rd to take away some rust from they... just a tip :)

Matt, no change tracker other than in game (click on the player's bars).

Shark, that's how the NFL does it, but I play my starters in Game 1 and part of Game 2 for knocking off rust, as that way they have longer to heal if they do get injured

Be careful with your roster bubble guys, by the way. If they have more than 1 year on their deal, they can't be cut while injured, and can only be placed on IR if the injury is "doubtful" or worse.

I don't play starters much, but guys still always get hurt.
