I need cap room bad to finish signing my last 3 draftees. Any tips for restructuring contracts. My 12 year veteran Left Tackle is counting 13 mil against the cap. His contract is through 2010. Help!

I'm in the same boat --- Really the only thing that the player will accept is converting salaries to bonus money ---- I have an 11 year LT which I can't renegotiate because more guaranteed money at the end of the career will come back to hurt me (1 or 2 years -- Not sure of time -- (of prorated bonus money) comes due upon retirement). -
so would converting more of the last two years of his salary into bonus money this year would free up cap space for this year? I may have to try to trade the guy. I know I could get some first day picks for him.Comment
