Yeah, I'd love to know what it will take to get my 76/76 RB to break 4.00 YPC. Probably some new linemen.

I also felt like my secondary was really good this year, on paper. But they got waxed.

Well, if he played for Camden you wouldn't have to wonder.

If you want to run the ball, I swear OL matters more than RB, which is as it should be. Sure, your Curtis Shea players will always be good, but a great OL makes him a killer.

Also, anyone else think RBs need to be COMPLETELY revamped in the next version of the game? They are much too difficult to draft and really shouldn't be as most schlubs are gonna do ok.

my 2 trades paid off highly this year:
        WR Farnie 1100 yds receiving
        S Joyner 6 int's

        quite happy with both players
they will remain in the system for a while

What thread was the discussion in? I don't recall seeing it, though I don't spend a ton of time on FOFC.
Don't remember the thread exactly, but it was in relation to the new patch and something I had taken eyeball note of testing with 0 injuries. I still think overall comp% is too high, but not by much. But instead, it's what Ben suggested, that it's a product of the talent.

Hm, that's probably on the right track. Maybe as we get further away from 2k7 those sort of talent centers won't be able to stick around (at least without big weaknesses elsewhere). Or, conversely, maybe you'll have a few teams go all-in on getting 3 WRs and a QB and that can demolish everything when it comes together (New England '07 style). Former is more my style. I don't want to gun for something and then have one injury or volatility leave me with no team.

Yeah I told you that Joyner would be good :)

These weren't just ordinary losses. Oh no. At least when Columbus beat us again and again and again they had the common courtesy to blow us out of the water. Not Yuma though. They toyed with us. They let us hold on to hope. To keep on believing we might still win right up until the very last second.

These 6 games featured 3 last second touchdowns passes, one trip to over time, one end of game FG blocked, and one last minute comeback drive killing interception. Oh and we certainly cannot forget the playoff game winning kickoff return for a touchdown called back because of a penalty called on the OTHER team.

In all seriousness though, this was a totally meaningless game for us in terms of the playoff picture. We were going to Charlotte next week no matter what happened.

We had some hurt guys I wanted to get healthy, some healthy guys I couldn't afford to get hurt, and some young guys I wanted to get some more playing time. So we sent the B-team to Beantown. And they did much better than I expected.

Sure it would have been nice to end our current 6 game losing streak to Boston. But I am a patient man. 15 or 16 seasons from now...

im with you on this one i think the game is still too wide open, in the same breath theres a dearth of good CB's so thats part of the problem as i see it they way the coverage "cloud" works doesnt REALLY punish you for having a poor secondary...(like mine) and there really is such a thing as a "shut down corner"

We need a +1 button here, you guys. I'm really enjoying this banter

I *thought* the identity of my team was going to be QB Tito Killian, but he was awful and I suspect with the new features of FOF7 and it's joy in killing QB hopefuls, I'm going to have to hope for another QB...spending them on 1.1's is risky business though. All things being equal, I'm glad to have "won" the #1 overall pick, but I would've rather Tito Killian worked out. We'll see what the draft brings us, we have holes everywhere so if there isn't a sure-fire QB, then dropping down may be in the works.

I've been Monte Cristo'd. Well played. Crazy thing is that recently with Camden W. Recker as my starting QB, you guys have beat us on the regular. I thought for sure with a name like that he belonged in Yuma.. So far it has not paid dividends.
