North Liberty gets embarrassed in the shutout, 26-0.
I knew it was going to be ugly when we dropped two consecutive 1st down passes at the beginning of the game. We move the ball on the next drive well, and then Allen fumbles. Next drive, we threw an interception (for a TD). Defense holds relatively well only letting us be down 10-0 late in the 2nd. Offense drives well sets up for the easy 31-yard FG and.....it gets blocked. After that the levy breaks in the 2nd half. I've patterned myself after the Bears, like wanted. Unfortunately, it seems like I get the lame offense to go with. Great game, Monsters.

      Two possible things there:

      1. Automatic substitution when endurance gets below a certain threshold.
      2. Potentially a horrid dice roll. If your guy is set at 95%, there's a 5% chance on any given play (besides endurance) that he simply won't be selected to be on the field.

Under 3 minutes left, we complete a 49 yard pass to the 14, but Watanabe fumbles, Columbus recovers. That was the game.
      That was huge.

I took Sierra's poor performance last week for granted, and he showed up this week.
Lincoln and Sierra are who you think they are. ;)

GG Dakota Totems. I've gotta spend some time looking at the fumble situation. . that has to change or it'll cost us a game or two or three down the line.

So far in two games, our defense hasn't allowed a touchdown. Good strength of the team.

Your run D was outstanding in the first half. Stopping me 3 times inside the 5, forcing a FG, then the above mentioned stand at your 9.

And yes, I knew you'd get your yards, but I was surprised to see Lincoln scrambling as much as he did. Also, Sierra must've had 3 receptions in double coverage. They definitely are who I thought they were.

Agreed, that was painful to read! My kicker missed 3 FG's! I think we've pretty much sent the message this year, #1 pick or bust! Unbelievable.

As if my offense wasn't inept enough already, my RB now has fumbleitis. 22 carries for 134 yards sounds good if you dont look at the 3 fumbles. 6 total on the game, and lost 4 of them with 1 returned for a TD. UGH.

That guy absolutely roasted me last year no matter who I tried to cover him with. He routinely beat double coverage and I spent the whole game rolling coverage to his side of the field. If we played again, I don't think I'd even bother....

My team committed 16 penalties for 133 yards last night. Jeez.

                  GG, Julio.
                  GG to you as well.

I was real proud of my defense coming up big in a lot of key situations so I could hold the lead after your defense stepped up in the second half. I was surprised by how well we held Richardson aside from a couple nice runs.

The new offense I have been working on in SP seems to be translating fairly well, but I really could use a running game.

0-2 with no Td's in the first 2 games. EXACTLY like the start of last season.

Dunno. 4 penalties is stellar for most teams. And you were only -1 in the turnover category. I wouldn't blame your loss on that.

You had 268 yards of offense in the first half and 90 in the second, including a pair of three and outs in the 4th. After those you had the ball at your own 43 with two minutes left and took 8 plays to go 12 yards and gave the ball over on downs.

The only squeaking I heard was your offense in the second half. You beat the crap out of me in the first half, then seemed to run out of gas. Weird one. My offense was pretty ineffective, but either you got tired or my defense just got stronger as the game went on. Probably a little of both.

Tough one. I'll take it, but man... I thought for sure you had me on that last drive.
If I recall, I think our turnovers were deep in your end. A fumbled punt, and Cote fumbled a run play as well. And I believe you scored on both. And then I remember a huge play where we had a 1st down, and it got called back on a holding call at a critical point in the game. But yeah, our offense did come to a screeching halt in the 2nd half, no question. It was just the timing of the turnovers and penalties that really discouraged me. Yeah, your defense did a great job on that last drive. Oh well, we covered the spread.
Tough one. You should have won, I think. Lucky, TE Nalen and Viola are my only offense at this point and they're going to make you pay for turnovers, but the rest of my offense still hasn't woken up yet. I'm running a lot, but more just to tire out your d-line than anything, and I think we did a good job there. Other than that, it's not working.

Man, did you thrash my defense in the first half. I had two "tired" nicklebacks and my starting RCB was out, so I had to platoon his backup with a guy I just signed this week. I basically just gave up on the run and tried to double your Mumphrey pretty much all game long. You were slashing through for about 5 or 6 yards a clip for a while there with Cote, but I was just grateful that every run wasn't a pass. I was really worried about your passing game. And Mumphrey specifically.

                        What defensive line?

When you guys took the lead, my gameplan went to crap. We abandoned the running game and your defense knew it. You did a great job in the 2nd half. Nice win.

GG Kalipsel. After dominating the first half, Kalipsel really played us tough in the second half. Backup RB Cris Wayne had 15 rushes for 53 yards, but 3 of those were for touchdowns. QB Kenny Gaylor continues his efficient play from last season with an 18/21, 184 yard day, no TD's but more importantly, no INT.

The defense was "ok" overall, really good in the first half though. Pearl Harbor's 2-0, watch out!

Skip Alig was awesome against Charlotte, also at QB Lessem who may not have great ratings but he gets the job done. Our defense did a great job shutting down their passing game.
