Memphis's offense continues to underwhelm. We had a couple linemen go down, and our complete lack of depth has really exposed us as a team that has a couple of years to go before we're competing. If you throw 7 screens that are completed for 1 yard or less, why would you keep throwing the screen?
Our defense did step it up with four turnovers, but our anemic offense couldn't capitalize. Our lone touchdown was an INT that was run back by Brad Doty.
We finally got our break in a 35-31 shootout game. Now we need to build on this to head to a tough end of season. The Joyner-Covington connection seem to finally work since the last two games, combining for over 200 yars in each of them. If we can keep this offense and bring our defense where it was early this year we are going to make sparkles.
Good news: The Bombers win a defensive battle 17-10.
Bad news: Clay Granberry is out for the rest of the regular season with a hyperextended elbow.
The defense showed up again allowing 213 total yards and just 3 points by the Columbus offense. Catfish quarterback, Walt Johnson will likely see Percy Campbell (DE) in his nightmares tonight. The veteran defensive end sacked Johnson 4 times with 2 two hurries and 1 knockdown. Campbell now has 15 sacks on the season and has eclipsed his personal best of 13.5 sacks in 2035.
Offensively we didn't play well but that is no surprise because our offense is tailored to Granberry's talents. There is a chance that 3rd string QB, Zack Waddle will start over longtime backup, Edwin Buckley who was thoroughly unimpressive in Granberry's absence today.
This was Washington's 4th straight victory but that streak will likely be in jeopardy following the Granberry injury.
But since I'm going on vacation starting tomorrow, we may be on auto pilot until the playoffs anyway.

GG Scortch.. BKL 20 MEM 13.
Winning UGLY! We cant run the ball at all and Sheldon is throwing tons of INTS (3 in this game) but our D is really stepping up. Our Offense was so bad that i was hoping we would give the ball back to Memphis so we have a better chance of scoring.. Oh the horror the horror.. This is the uglist 9-4 team i have ever seen but we are still in it..
Good luck rest of year Scortch. We got a big game vs BOS next week.
I though we were heading to OT with those two long drives at the end of the game. We really didn't manage to do much at all offensively in the second half, but managed to take just long enough doing it that the clock to run out with Waco and the ball at our 12 yard line.
