Don't get me started on the Staff Draft. It pisses me off SOOOO bad that I beat my wife, ground my daughter for a week, and bite my dog. And then I get really mad.
I hate the way the staff draft is now. If I ever quit FOF, that will be the #1 reason.GM of the South Maryland Maulers 2034-2040

I think you and I will have to disagree there, alex.
The other system MAY have had flaws, but it was a working system. This system is completely unworkable and takes the control OUT of the GM's hands and that is not good. Several better systems:
1) An ACTUAL draft, like the rookie draft, could have been implemented. For the most part, it wouldn't take too much time because most teams generally don't change their personnel.
2) Since the problem with the old system was that there was no budget for personnel, Jim could have simply added a budget system. With a minimum budget that all teams start with, plus a bonus dependent on profit from the previous season.
3) He could have removed staff altogether.
The way it is now, staff is an IMPORTANT part of the game, but with little to no control. Simply, I like a lot of strategy in my game, and I like staff in the game. But, if it isn't working, there are two things you can do, fix it or remove it. In this case, he made it much, much worse, to the point that it is unusable. It hurts strategy and has a big effect on the game without a big factor of control. Control and effect should be equal on any element of strategy in any game. For Staff, they are so far apart as to make the whole aspect of the game laughable.GM of the South Maryland Maulers 2034-2040

I like Ben's tool, it strips out the BS from the way Jim designed the submission tool that's currently in-game which is honestly one of the worst designed tools I've seen in a sim game.
I also disagree with Irish to a certain extent. Coaching adds in more variable to the game that is out of our control and im okay with that. 2k7 showed that the code could be cracked. It resulted in a lot of teams being the same year in, year out. Zzzzz
Coaching does need to be revised though. Hopefully he makes it somewhat more about personalities.
