    I have been told to use draft analyzer to sort out all the chaff. So you find the guys with good combines and bars you like. Then, you make your decision based on your own criteria. Sometimes, there can be a good player deep in the field that you may not see or find if you manually go through everyone. So, it helps narrow down the field. I was told not to use it for more than that.

    This is how I made my picks. I narrowed the field of offensive linemen to a few, then considered and took the guy I felt was the best available at the time. I'm really looking forward to seeing how I did.

      I agree with this; there's no "code" to really be cracked anymore. However, the combine correlations are probably important to understand. So for example, if you see a LB with 20 position drill and a 100 zone bar, you'll know that this likely fake.

      Evaluating draft prospects is a lot of guesswork. It's mostly asking "Are these bars real, or what?" and no matter what, there's a deal of uncertainty here. Even when there's enough reason to believe they're real, they're often not. So you take your best shots but understand in planning that you're often going to get the unexpected.

        My first draft went pretty well except for the fact that I picked a garbo WR at like 1.11 cuz I didn't know what I was doing yet. :)

          Same for me at the 1.27. I will never forget J.B. Erickson

          * BLB Champions --> 2017, 2020.

          Ohio River Sharks (OSFL)

            I remember the first draft pick I ever made. I took over a team that picked at 1.28. I needed a CB, since my all star CB had a career ending injury the year before. i also remember reading the rant from the previous owner... he left because he lost his star CB, LOL.

            Anyway, I ended up picking a guy with great bars, who also had good return skills and a good ST bar. Thing was, he had AWFUL combines. But he had 5.9 rating in the game or something. If I'd known about combines back then, I wouldn't have made the pick. He ended up making 7 INT the first season, and he was a 21/65 or something. But, by the 3rd season, he was 33/33 with no special teams worthiness. He had 3 more picks the rest of his 6 year career, with 2 more years as a starter for my team ( I was stupid and, as I still am, stubborn as hell!).

            The best part of this story is that the guy drafting behind me was Yoda, who was also in my division. He got this guy with great combines and only two decent looking bars... M2M and BnR, with a little bit of INT. That guy ended up being an all star for as long as I remember, and my guy lasted 6 seasons, 1 of which was a good season for him. I thought about the great combine guy, but I couldn't see how great combines could build on a player with such terrible looking bars. How high could he really go, I thought to myself.... this was in FOF2k4.

            Ahhhh... what a noob I was. And what fun to get my teeth smashed in year after year as I learned the game!

              My first ever FOF 2k7 draft pick was Britt Bush DE (link). Clearly an obvious monster that anyone could see the potential in.

              Fast forward to FOF7, and my first draft pick was Dan Leoni QB. Who's still on my team, and uhhhh... well yeah. Garion loves him.
