My last game at the helm of the Punxsutawney Phils ends in victory. Not the season I would have liked, but it is what it is.

Wow, we did it?! What a crazy ride. Our QB gets hurt in the final preseason game and his backup takes over. I'm confident in the backup, who was last seen tearing Brooklyn apart in the playoffs a few years ago, but he opens the season 1-5. Once Axel Erickson returns, the team doesn't really play better (until the end) but he finishes 8-2. We sneak in on tiebreakers.

GG Camden. Taking down the Cutters even if that wasn't all starters is never a small feat. And you were right, Irish -- that SMD game was pivotal.

I think I was ahead when the 3 of us were tied at 8-7 because I had the head to head tiebreakers 3-way. Heads up against you, I forgot all about the conference record being a tiebreaker. After the start of the season, I was wondering if we could win at all. Glad to see we came back strong, and have a good roll going into the offseason.

Now it's time to start re-signing personnel and getting ready for next year. Next year will be our last in South Maryland, and I'd like to go out with a bang to bring some excitement with us to Huntsville.

We played a sorry game could not move the ball at all. GG Yuma / Juilo.

On another note I noticed in game planning I put in a plan for heavy deep passes, but over 50% of throws was behind line of scrimmage and we got tackled all time losing yardage. I even had more run plays than deep passes. Too me it was like it totally ignored my game plan from the beginning. Does the game or coaching staff somehow say hey these receivers don't do well deep so it ignores the game plan?

Phantoms finish the season on a positive note with a 25-17 win over the Gladiators. We finish the season 7-9 after going 0-4 in the first quarter of the season for the second year running. We will need a much better start next season.

GG Bridge. Despite trading away our whole draft, Memphis squeaks in for our first playoff birth of my tenure as GM. It was a crazy season and we have several key injuries, but we've had a next man up mentality all year and I'm hoping we can carry that into the playoffs. I don't expect a real deep run, but being competitive would be nice.

and then with 39 seconds left at mid filed we blitz for only the second time all game and gift wrap the game winning fg

I didn't know you made a prediction? I was referring to Shark's pre-season prediction. It was fun and I hope he makes a prediction for my team every season. It fired the boys up.

Thanks for the luck, I feel like we need it, not sure if we can beat you twice on the road. Plus the team is partying all week after destroying pre-season expectations.
