Ohhh Great, trade for Bigfoot and who has 2 yrs remaining on contract of 8 Mill per year. Now he is holding out on me & wants 4 yr deal of 105.57 Mill total. I still have 10 guys I need to sign, and 26.6 Mill left to get them. He sure has thrown a monkey wrench into things.

unproven QB Atkins on my end wants a contract extension with an additional 5-6 million a season and my top dog SS Johnson wants top dollar too and both are holding out...I freed up space to re-sign these potential overachievers lol
It wasn't even their contract year yet
      I feel your GM pain!

If they are not in contract year you will have the chance to extend them next year and prepare your salary cap for it...

If they get the past injustices tag, it will disappear next year

        Just my 2 cents

Does it always disappear? I think it often stays forever.

My experience is that it does disappear if your player still signed with your team in the year after... :)

I will test it with my two holdouts this year anyway. Those fuckers aren't getting paid. haha

Uh, I haven't actually noticed that, but that's an interesting thought. I've seen past injustices disappear before the next season, from players I had cut -- not very good ones.

But I also remember Motor City had a stud QB, Mickey Baines, end a holdout and then resign with them the next year. This was in 2k7 days, and I always wondered how in the world that happened.

I managed to resign Bigfoot, I did not want to take chance of him holding out the whole season on me. With him getting up in age maybe 3-4 years left in him. Also with the other older veterans we are looking to do or die this and next season.

The only time I didn't get past injustices forever after a holdout was with my SILB Brandon Miyabuchi. I actually resigned him a season later, I think. Ironically, he is holding out again now and still won't be getting paid.
