Good Luck in the playoffs!
This game was a nail biter though, both teams had a couple chances to make a big play and break the game open, but neither could manage better than a field goal on any given drive. The lead never expanded beyond 6 points, so things could have changed at any point.. We were fortunate things did not change. GG Flame
We lost a couple big contributors along the way, however.. Another starting CB dropped and the guy who had been our second starting WR is down now as well. We're banged up pretty good coming into our playoff game.

Not sure just how we are going to do it but we do hope to resign QB Mandel, as he showed major improvement this season, CB Poole & TE Rudy all 4 of these players will be in their 4th year.
It will be another interesting offseason!!

We took care of our business this week, unfortunately the two teams ahead of us did as well and we were left out of the playoffs. We ended up 9-7, which I'm pretty happy with. We started a lot of young players, and were very streaky as a result. We had a 6 game winning streak followed up by a 3 game losing streak. In the end a playoff berth would not have ended well for us anyways. We've improved from the third or fourth tier into a second tier team, but we've got some work to do to get over that final hump where we can start competing for championships. It's a downer to not make the playoffs, but in the grand scheme of things this wasn't going to be our year even if we had.
There were many positives for us this year, but the biggest boon had to be the return of Conner Cannida. We got him back from Denver in week 4 and he went on to have the best year of his career, which is impressive considering he was coming off of a reconstructive knee surgery and there was speculation that he may never play at such a high level again. In his 13 games in Memphis he lead the league with 6 interceptions, 23 passes defensed, and tallied a 88.4 Pass Defensed Percentage, which was also tops for the league over that stretch. We couldn't be happier to welcome Skinny Jeans back into the fold, and I don't foresee him leaving our organization again any time soon.
Our biggest disappointment this year was our special teams unit. Skip Fletcher, our kicker, was in a contract year and came through with the worst performance of his career. He was 30th in the league in FG percentage and 31st in extra point percentage. Neither him nor Norbert Parrish, our punter, will be coming back next year. I have to go back and tally it up, but my estimate would be that we muffed 6 or 7 kickoffs and punts this year, which is completely unacceptable. There were two games where we had back to back fumbles on kick returns, and one where we had three in a row. This just killed us. We'll be looking for some new returners this off-season.
Thank you all for the great time I had this year, and good luck to our playoff participants.
