To be honest I was pretty impressed, Ira. My ability to run the ball was really just a math problem. My O-line is the best unit on my team and your D-line is probably your weakest. I was worried about how we'd be able to stop your run game. Luckily, we were able to stay out ahead for most of the game which forced you to rely on the passing game. When you did run you gained over 5 and a half yards per attempt. When the game started and you jumped ahead early I got nervous thinking that my D-line was going to be in for a long game. With how the game played out I don't know how you could have planned any better.
This was a weird game in that both QBs played horribly. No matter what we did we just couldn't get it going enough to put the game away, and Las Vegas was able to hang with us until the final minute of the game. The defense came up with big in the second half, including one series that ended with Las Vegas staring down 4th and goal from the 38. If we hadn't stiffened up like that, we'd have been toast as our offense went to sleep after halftime.
Conner Cannida came up huge with another multi-interception game, and through two games has matched his INT total from 2038 when he was selected to the All-League 2nd team. I spent the second half of last year trying to set up my defensive gameplan to put him in the best possible position to be successful, and so far it seems to be working. Let's see if he can keep it up.

gg, Engelbert. This was another close game, but a better showing from the offense -- powered by the ground game. We look fairly dual-threat, which is good. Neither looks that strong, which is bad. However, hopefully we'll be able to land at least one of the two punches on most teams.
My QB's disinclination to throw to his WRs was maddening last year, but fun. This year, I don't think we're likely to see the same yardage after the RB's dropoff. So now it's just maddening! We have nice WRs, man. Use 'em!
Made a mistake as I forgot to crank up my injury setting to 80+, and one of my CBs didn't get any defensive snaps as a result (he's 'doubtful'). Can't do that this week, but it was a heck of a job by the rest of the crew to stop Syron & co. Utah has some powerful pieces in the pass game.Float likeabutterflysting likeabee.

When we were down by 24 starting the second quarter I had essentially chalked this one up as a loss.. But then Ashton West happened. He finished with 28 carries for 237 yards and a score and we somehow wrangled a win out of that horrible start. Credit to our defense for not just mailing it in after the offense dug them into that ditch to begin with. We recovered from the severe first quarter fumble-itis and ended up with one hell of a comeback.
GG Port City, that was a wild one.

GG Portland
SpoilerWe got off to a rough start with turnovers, remind me of last week, and we went down early 7-0. Then we ran up a huge lead which we held until the 4th quarter when Portland staged a comeback and scared the bejesus out of us. We were having trouble running down the clock since Herndon was injured and the AI was handing off the ball to my FB 66% of the time.
Brian Douglas had a marvelous game and if he can keep it up and these nagging little injuries don't compromise my team too much maybe we can sneak into the playoffs this year.

GG Strickzilla.
You crushed our running game, we couldn't get anything going. But Sage was 19 for 25 for 329 yards and 3 TDs. On defense, stopping the run is our thing, and we were successful doing that. We tried to pressure White, but we couldn't get a sack on him. We got some pressure, which was good enough. At the end of the 3rd quarter, it looked like we took White out, and we were able to get a couple of sacks on the backup.
One thing that concerns me is two missed extra points by our kicker. Didn't see any bad snap or bad hold message, so our kicker needs to get better quickly.GM of the South Maryland Maulers 2034-2040

So would anyone object if I start rookie QBs after that performance?
