We were discussing what the interview skill might be used for and it occurred to me that maybe good coaches get less HTRs?

Anyway, since the results are not something I've ever bothered tracking, maybe this would be a time to start. Here's how Boston's scouts reported back this year on our 12:

Already I see some interview indiscretions Me and Aston has QB Monroe VO Foos has him VU. Then come to the DE Barnes Aston has him VO I have him VU. Hmmmm no wonder my drafting is so hit and miss. Even scouting way some messages in past have been posted scouts see players hugely different sometimes.

I think I'm seeing some cases where my scout could be wrong. Nicky Howard, for example. That Barnes VO may also be. And bombers high on his safety, Jouette, who doesn't look very VO. also Fox could well just be U, but I hope not.

Aston, you had me all depressed about my 1st round pick... Now you're saying your scout could be wrong. I felt pretty confident when I made the pick but then you made me feel all "doubty".

I mean, it'd be the same for me with mine. I got VU, but if you had gotten O I would've doubted it. And if I had gotten VU on Howard and U on Fox, maybe I'd have gone with Howard instead. As much as I try not to, it's hard not to get swayed by scout impressions.

Yes, my post was kind of tongue in cheek. If I had gotten O I would have stayed far away. I can see how he could go either way and that became more apparent when you said your interview was O. I am still rather doubtful even though your impression has changed somewhat.

Recently in USFL I took a QB late 1st round. Had VU on him and felt pretty confident because his static bars were good. Now he is just kind of average at best and looking back if I had looked objectively I wouldn't have been so high on him.

I have to really work to not let interviews over influence my decisions.

He probably is VO my offensive coordinator sucks at interviews.

Even the best interviewer can make the wrong call once in a while.

By the way, as I understand it, the head coach matters the most for interviews. The coordinators are more important for bar scouting.
