Of all thats been discussed, I think a much shorter time limit would work best and be the easiest to put in place.. I think last season we had it at either 4 or 6 hours for the 1st round, didn't we?

Of the other three leagues I am in, I think the longest time limit we have in any round is an hour or two, and that seems to work well. At the very least, you're getting about a round a day done.

We'll have all season to discuss it this time, and next offseason, I think getting the utility set up wont be as much of a problem. The confusion about when the draft would actually start and when the utility would be up seems to have been the biggest issue besides the lengthy time limit for picks, IMO.

overall round 2 seems to have moved along nicely up until recently, and based on the speed of the draft up until today, I imagine the owner for the team currently on the clock didn't envision the draft getting this far before he got home from work, so thats probably why we don't have a pick from him yet.

I think the best and easiest way to help move it along a little quicker next time is to shorten the time limit for the first round to something like 4 hours, then maybe 2 hours for the 2nd and 3rd rounds, and 1 hour for the last 4 rounds.

I'm on board with that suggestion.

Nope. The limit was 12 hrs last year. It seemed quicker because people were picking quicker.

Really? No kidding it seemed faster.. Still though, 4,2,2,1,1,1,1 seems good to me. Maybe it will be a bit of a catalyst for some, as well as a complaint deterrent for others.

              Right you are.

FYI, IHOF *still* has a 14-hour draft clock, just in case real life gets in the way, but we got through the last draft in right at 72 hours--less than 20 minutes per pick--because no one would ever have considered being on the clock that long.
