Starting with the 2009 Draft, the OSFL is shortening the time between each draft pick. Whats left to decide is how long the time limit should be for each round. Above is a poll with 5 choices on time limits. Each owner will be given one vote and the poll will close a week from now. If you have a time limit suggestion that wasnt included in the poll please post in below.

I voted 6/2 but I would like to see 6 hrs Rd 1, 4 hrs rd 2, and 2 hrs all others - This would leave sufficient time for trading in rounds 1 & 2 when it is most prevalent.PFL Tampa Bay Bucs

I voted for the shortest possible time, though I like Andrews idea of allowing for just one hour for the late rounds.
The only way this works however is if the draft utility is up and running several days before the draft starts.... that way each gm can effectively fill out a list with the players they like best....
With the draft utility it should not really matter what times are open and marked as "on the clock"

It's a very bad idea to have a short time limit during the night in the second round. It would suck if someone put several picks in, all were taken, and they got auto-picked. That's why it's better to have a group of courteous owners than hard-and-fast short time limits, guys. If someone has the 1st pick in the 2nd round, they should be able to trade down if their top several guys are gone. Personally, I think the limit for rounds one and two should *never* be below 8 hours, due to sleep time. *shurg*

Important side note to short time limits.... Make sure the draft utility is up and running several days before the draft start time.... that way each gm can effectively fill out a list with the players they like best. I understand that there some technical difficulties setting up... and bless those that fixed it because I have no idea how to run an uploader or draft utility and I appreciate the effort! But at the same time gms need a few days to get players uploaded at draft start. I am sure because of this the draft sputtered out of the gate. Next season we will see a big difference.

It should be noted that I am not one of the impatient ones and have never complained about someone taking up too much time. I made every pick on autodraft or immediately except one time, and while still within the time limit had people pissed. I don't want to start a flame thread but I want to give my opinion. It should be the commish alone, and both conference presidents that have the right to publicly admonish someone they feel is taking up too much time. If someone has a problem with the time limits being abused they should email one of these three people and keep the forums free from bashing. I am new here and have no say in matters like this, but I really haven't seen this elsewhere and don't think it's good for any league. I have seen this type of stuff in madden leagues and that's why I left. Generally madden ballers are thugs who behave like goons in the forums and I just need to make the observation that I haven't seen much in any fof leagues I am in.
On the flip side.... there are clear indicators we have seen both with time limits and the effects of a wolf pack complaining about delays that should ensure that next season things run smoother. There are a few owners here I am looking forward to competing against who I havent met in other leagues and look forward to playing just because of their reputation in the fof community.
Leaving my .02 on the counter..... I just want to thank the commish and staff for the good job through tough times and wish everyone good luck in the upcoming season.

Wont be an issue next year. This is the first year we hosted the draft utility and we will be able to use it from here on out.
