  • Week 7

    First loss of the year to the division rival Denver team. Used my running D which on paper looked like the right way to go as they continued their 65% usage of the running game, however, lots of mental errors on D as well as the usually tight Offensive not clicking.

    Props to this Denver team for bringing us down from the clouds, and hope we can bounce back with authority for next weeks tilt.

    GG, Julio. We really squeaked by the Aces this time, with a seriously last second field goal. Holmes had a tough 4th quarter and we capitalized to stay in the hunt until the end. OL is starting to get healthy, which is promising particularly as our in season signing Dusty Mathis is already at "low risk" for reinjury on that torn quad. Kind of iffy though, and he may get a lot more time off yet. For cohesion sake I'd prefer not to call upon him unless necessary.

      In an offensive struggle, what wins you games is, field position. Then Special Teams. The Sharks stole a W at Home against Los Alamos. With RT Abel Wade giving up 4 more sacks, 11 total in the season. Recently aquired from the Street, QB Blake Green completed 76% of his pases with 2 Scores and a Rating of 132.1, not bad young kid, not bad. Our duo of RBs combined had 218 Yards and 2 Scores.

      But the star of the game was without a doubt Quentin Sippio. The 2nd Year Pro, former 5th Round pick in last yearīs Draft had a Net average of 44.3 Yards, with a long of 51, and 4 of his 7 Punts finished inside the 20 Yards, 2 of them inside the 5 Yard line. Outsanding game by the young Punter, letīs hope he carries on like that.

      * BLB Champions --> 2017, 2020.

      Ohio River Sharks (OSFL)
      * OSFL Bowl CHAMPION > 2036, 2047.

        Holmes struggled in this one, and we will likely deal with some growing pains from him for a couple seasons.. But we still played well enough to keep me optimistic. When your QB plays that poorly and you only lose by a last second FG then there is hope for a better result next time. GG man, we'll be hoping for a rematch.

          Funny thing about Mathis, I was sitting him near the end of the year to give Steven Houston more experience and he suffered that injury on special teams. haha

            I guess no amount of discouragement could keep him from playing on those punt units! He's a positive guy!
