League conversion to 8 status

Since sending files to Solecismic on wednesday I have not received a reponse back from them. I have sent another e-mail to solecismic today asking them what the hold up is or if there is a problem with the files. Hoping I get some kind of email back by Monday.

Weird. I sent IFL at like 2am on Thursday night and had them back by 8am Friday. Maybe they bumped me up because of the USFL issue we were working on, but still it shows that they don't take long. Maybe check your spam folder or something too.

I'm guessing he has probably been working on patches the last couple days which is why the conversion might be taking some time.

Wow I am shocked still no response. Went to FOF Central to see if anyone else has not had files converted. Looks like we are only ones still waiting. Praying OSFL does not totally die out due to waiting for the conversion.

Not hearing anything by now has me worried that the Dean Holmes era is going to be a disappointingly short lived one, which sucks because I think he might have been one of the best draft picks I ever made.

I am like you Juilo, scared the OSFL has been killed by FOF8 and fact they seems like not converting files. Feeling ripped off actually money wise if it cause powers that be won't convert files. Powers that be meaning who makes money. Also over a week and King has said nothing.

1. I sent the files to solecismic on the jan 25th. No reponce from solecismic

2,Sent an email on the jan 29th asking if they had seen the email with the link for the files and all so if there was an issue ie. if I was doing something wrong could they let me know so i could fix it. No reponce from solecismic.

3. Feb 2nd. Got Andrew from simgamingnetwork to set up a link to our osfl files. By doing this I know that the link is working fine and is easily accessible for solecismic. No reponse from solecismic.

Instructions for commissioners of multi-player leagues wishing to convert from Front Office Football Seven to Front Office Football Eight:

Examples are based on a fictional league ID of IDLEAGUE.
This can only be done after the Front Office Bowl, while the End Season button is visible to the commissioner.

Put the following files in a zipped archive: IDLEAGUE.fps, IDLEAGUE.fpd, IDLEAGUE.ffn and IDLEAGUE.fju, and all files in the form IDLEAGUE.YYYY, where YYYY is a year, like 2004 or 2005. No other files are needed for the conversion. Solevision will not work for past years, so please don't include Solevision files (IDLEAGUEXX.YYYY, where XX is a week number from 1-26).


Place this zipped archive in an easily-accessed web space.

Send our support address (customersupport AT solecismic.com) a link to the zipped archive that does not require a login. Let us know if you wish to have economic information for all cities equalized (this does not affect stadiums).
We will then convert the league files

. You can either give us access to upload the resulting zip file to your web site, or we will place this on our web site temporarily.

All of the above has been followed by myself on 3 occasions. I have not had any reponse from solecismic. So much for customer support.

I will send another email right now to try and find out what the problem is. If I don't get a respnse from them by midnight tomorrow(MON) I am going to cut the cord with fof for good,step down as commish and find some one else to run the osfl.and drop all my leagues.I will not continue to waste my time on this game if the developer can not be bothered to communicate with his loyal customers.

I feel like there has to be some miscommunication here. Not putting any blame on anyone, I know how tough it is to be a commissioner and I never had to do a transition like this.. But I also know Jim is about as reliable as clockwork, so I feel like something has been missed somewhere along the line here. Either an email sent to spam or failed delivery of said email, or something.

Hopefully it works out, but if not, no blame from me. Shit happens.

(Specifically, I'm wondering if the files were sent as an attachment, in which case they might have been deleted without the email being read, as it says in the FAQ. "Please do not send file attachments, as email with attachments will automatically be deleted before we read it.")

I have not sent the files to jim via an attachment e-mail.The link i have sent to jim again today has our osfl files needed for conversion are currently being hosted on our web site which andrew set up for me. I have tried a few times today to access the link and was able to download the files straight away. May be like julio said it's going straight to his spam folder and he is not seeing it.

If you want, PM me the email. I've already gotten back emails about 3 league conversions. So I know mine works. I can check the file too. I know there was a problem with USFLs.

Good news. Our league has been converted. I will try to get things set up tonight when i get home from work.
