Port City trying to be the Cleveland Browns of the OSFL. We really have nothing and should be playing for a top 5 pick but we just won again. I guess we'll beat the teams we're marginally better than and get cream against the better teams.

First win of the season, woohoo.
-RR got a TD, but he had 22 rushes for 65 yards, not very good.
-Wally Lum was targeted 5 times and held without a reception, I'm not liking that.
-Leonard Douglas was great again, 3/3 on FGs, hit a 53 yarder. He's the Josh Brown of the OSFL.
-Maurice Hutton had a big game with 3 sacks.
I'm not looking forward to Week 4's game against Port City, it looks like a loss to me.

North Liberty marched right down the field after the 1st drive and I thought I was toast. My defense stiffened up though and Vince Shapiro simply carried us. 26 rushes for 162 Yards and 2 TD's. Edgar Cote had another rough game but my defense and running attack were able to overcome it.
I expect the other shoe to drop at some point. Over the last two games it seems like I've gotten a turnover or the refs whistle the other team for a penalty at important moments.
Two key plays stand out in this game. At the start of the 3rd quarter, we stopped N Liberty on 3rd and 1 at my 22. They missed the FG that would've given them a 10-3 lead.
The next was a series at the end of the 3rd quarter/ start of the 4th. They pinned us at the 1 yard line. Cote completed a 15 yard pass on 3rd and 8 from our own 3 to keep the drive alive. We drove to midfield and ended up pinning them on their own 1 yard line. N Liberty went 3 and out, we got the field position back and ended up scoring the TD to make it 17-7.
This is our strange series of the day:
4-7-NLB41 (4Q: 06:06) Bruce Wasserman punted 47 yards. Vince Shapiro returned the kick 0 yards to the BOS12. Tackled by Bennie Saul. PENALTY: North Liberty was called for an Ineligible Man Downfield on the Punt. North Liberty: Strong formation, strength is right. The defense is in a 43 with nickel personnel and 4-deep zone coverage, keying aggressively on the pass.
4-12-NLB36 (4Q: 05:59) Myron Allen pass was intended for WR Wayne Horner and was intercepted by S J.J. Fedolfi at the NLB47. The interception was returned 47 yards for a TOUCHDOWN! The quarterback threw away from the double coverage. Boston 23, North Liberty 7

Why the hell did they go for it on 4th and 12 after punting on 4th and 7 ??

I have questions about the A.I. as well... especially with how they choose to play players...
For example, Terrance Conway my starting SE, coming into the game, he was tied (I think) for first in the OSFL with 21 targets... and he had 15 catches... yet, he is only targeted once the entire game this past week for a zero yard catch?!?!
Sure we threw it 20 less times, but in 17 attempts, you would think my QB would at least look to the guy, especially when he lead my team in catches the first two weeks, with 6 catches the first week, and 9 the second.
I'd understand if he was covered heavily, but his backups at SE had more targets than Conway this week...wtf?
Oh well, aside from the screwy numbers, it is cool to see individual ratings make a difference... my backup RB Cris Wayne started for us this week due to an injury to our starting RB. Well in the scouting report Wayne is listed as a great break away runner (or something close to that) and in the game against Dakota, the guy bust out four runs over 15 yard with three being over 20 yards. Pretty cool imo.California Kodiaks - GM - 1982-2013

That's an easy one, I suspect. The second play occurred after you passed the 6-minute mark. Were you down two scores? My guess is that you were down two scores, and had 3 minutes per score set for hurry-up mode. It's a computer game, after all. When you passed the 6-minute mark, hurry-up mode kicked in, which caused you to go for it on 4th down.

We had a great game this week, probably the best our team has played in its brief history.
QB Jumbo Clements was on, the running game was above expectations, and the defense was very stiff considering the firepower Columbus has in their arsenal. WLB Otis Vaughn also had a bit of a "welcome to 2008" type game, registering a sack and numerous hurries and hits on the QB.
Next week we face an improved San Francisco team that we cannot take lightly- We need to angle ourselves toward 3-2 before the bye week hits and start really showing what this team can do.

I swear I almost cut that kicker as soon as it happened. That's the second sub-40yd field goal that he's missed that changed the complexion of the game. Plus, my coach kept expecting you to pass for some insane reason. I swear, I don't understand how anyone can press "recommend" and still win. It has really killed me doing that. I changed my offense and it showed, I liked what I saw for the most part. However, our defense can't seem to stop the run and its getting very annoying. Worst of it all is I go home, 0-3, with the defending champs in town.
