  • Looking back

Remember when the league started? We sent in our initial draft preference files. I saw my team for the first time, and man, were we young. That first season was frustrating, and I was constantly second guessing myself about drafting a young team. We were terrible. Now that we have almost 3 seasons under our belt, I'm really glad I put an emphisis on young players with potential. Now I just hope I can sustain, through FA and getting draft gems. During that first season, I would have never guessed a lot of the players on my roster would pan out. It's just kind of fun to look back and see how the team, and the whole league for that matter, had evolved.

I was looking for a QB and got stuck with Malcolm Coles.

    The end.

Look for Malcolm to dominate the league next season once Sanderson gets the hell out of there.

I went young, too, in the dispersal draft. I saw my first year team as a 4-12 team, but we finished that season 7-9. We jumped out to a 5-0 start before losing starting QB Dusty Cowell for the next 10 games with a high ankle sprain. I'm confident that team would've made the playoffs had Cowell now suffered that injury. Still, we're relatively young at all of the skill positions, with studs at QB, RB, 2 WRs, TE, DE, and CB. If we spend wisely, and continue to draft well, we should be in good shape for years.

I also went with youth. There is lots of potential for my team if the QB position can get filled and the O line starts to protect more. The strength of my team is Defense but they spend too much time on the field.
