  • WTF is with Early Retirements?

My team got hit hard by retirements.

My #1 RB retired coming off a 1300 yd season with 8 TD's. He has over 4300 yards and 33 total TD's in 3 years and has never missed a game.

My #1 LB retired coming off a season with 99 tackles. He's been consistently around the 100 tackle mark every year and I was believe rated 70+ going into the offseason. He has also never missed a game.

My #2 CB retired after an 8 INT season. He has 14 INT's in 3 seasons and has also never missed a game.

All 3 players were born in 1979 so are either 29 or 30 years old.

They realized they have no hope with your crappy team?

    Sounds brutal.

BTW, where do you see who's retired and what not? It seems my entire roster is intact from the previous season.

Look at the transaction log. In the OSFL Bowl file my RB was rated 55/55, my LB 73/73 and CB 42/42.

I was shocked by that too. The only one that made any sense to me was the RB. He was in his 9th or 10th year (correct me if I'm wrong) and some RBs retire that early.

Yep, I think the average shelf life for an NFL running back is only 3-5 years.

Thats irrelevant. Andrew's guy didn't have an injury history and had a great season.

            Plus...this is the OSFL!!!

Now I would be pissed about the LB and the CB. Maybe they didnt want to be a part of your youth movement with Cote.

I cant lie though. I'm happy as hell to see JR Sierra retire.

Did they all retire from the same team in the same year? I can see having an early retirement once in awhile but there's something wrong with having multiple guys in their prime retire after very good seasons.

Ouch, that really blows. Three key players lost at 3 key positions. That sets your entire team back a couple years.

Maybe your coach is a Tom Coughlin? You know how poor Tiki suffered.
