  • Post Training Camp Booms/Busts

    If I get some time tonight or tomorrow I'll post the biggest booms/busts around the league. But for right now....Post your draft picks in this thread.

    Pre/Post Camp
    1.5- - LB Joel Wild 48/60===>55/60
    2.1 - TE Johnny May 27/50===>32/57
    2.4 - CB Darryl Whitfield 25/68==>28/61
    4.1 - LB Jackie Dukes 12/29===>14/30
    4.3 - CB Chester Lichenburger 14/31===>17/33
    5.29 - K Lamont Reglin 48/72===>46/65
    6.1 - QB Kim Henry 7/44===>12/42
    7.2 - DT Oliver Sugita 12/46===>20/47

    I'm happy with my picks. And then I think this is the year for Myron Allen. He's 72/72 with more room to grow and was just 64/71 last year.....

      Los Alamos post training camp.

      The Rookies

      1.08 RDE Kieth Minnig 51/66 (+3/-3)

      My scout had Minnig pegged as Very Underrated and I was hoping to his potential creeping up into the low 70's this camp. Disappointing that he looks like he'll be a downward creeper, but with a 51 current score Kieth steps in and starts for us from day one. Gotta like that.

      1.22 C Irwin Dixon 39/56 (+3/-2)

      Another player my scout had as Very Underrated. That, combined with some combine numbers that looked better than his post interview bars, left me hoping Dixon was going to be moving up after training camp. Another disappointment. Hopefully Cris Prescott has a couple more years left in him.

      2.07 SS Trent Gaines 8/19 (-6/-19)

      Ah, the recipe for the perfect bust. Take one part data entry error that pushes his combine adjusted grade up higher than it should have been, combine with a Very Underrated scout impression when it likely should have been Very Overrated, add a likely volitility induced drop, stir vigorously in training camp. Viola! For the second consecutive year, the Monster's manage an utterly worthless 2nd round pick.

      3.06 SE Orlando Rolle 25/52 (+3/-3)

      Not surprised that Rolle starts a downward creep here. Another allegedly Very Underrated player (can you tell how I drafted?), I was actually more surprised that he showed up to camp with as high a potential as he had and figured this was coming. Still, he could end up being a 45/45 guy and be the best receiver on my team.

      3.20 FB Kyle McKie 23/52 (+2/-6)

      My first player taken who wasn't supposed to be Very Underrated, my scout actually had him as Hard to Read, but I was in love with his combine scores. He'll see some playing time, behind last year's 7th round pick Troy Boyer, and probably some special teams work. A disappointment mostly in that he could have been so much more.

      4.19 RB Marshall Fontaine 25/34 (+3/+3)

      My first player whose post camp potential moved where my scout said it was going to. Although in fairness to Mr. Sanderson, it looks like he was right in 63% of the interviews where he was able to make up his mind if they were over/underrated. Not bad for the cheapest scout in the league. That is, if I believe the numbers he is giving me now. Back to Marshall, he'll likely kick around the team for a few years, maybe picking up a few points each training camp, but barring a catastrophic chain of injuries he's not going to be suiting up much this year.

      5.04 RDT Game Pinard 28/41 (+6/+1)

      A pleasant surprise from a guy I hadn't even looked at before the draft. Pinard's meager gains move him comfortably ahead of Mo Gentile in the "defensive tackles least likely to be cut" list. Too bad, I rather like the name Mo Gentile.

      6.08 LDE Anthony Gramatica 30/43 (+7/+5)

      It is so easy for someone to exceed your expectations of them, when you don't have any to begin with. Gramatica is moving up in the world or at least ahead of Jason McLeod and maybe even by the end of the year one of last year's starting DEs, Grant Franklin.

      7.07 WLB Moe Sullivan 29/46 (+9/+6)

      Sometimes I wonder if my scout isn't maybe trying to save his job by telling me all these late round guys, who probably aren't even going to step foot on the field this year, are full of "potential". With both of last year's staring OLBs falling to pieces this training camp, Moe has a good shot of seeing the field this year.

      Other Training Camp Notables

      RB Henry Harrell, coming off his most disappointing season as a pro, dropped 7 points. Ouch.

      RT Roosevelt Houston saw a drop 6 points but he has an excuse, he's been doing this for 14 years.

      WR Quentin Kirk also dropped 6 points. Once again not surprising considering his age, and he's still the best receiver on the team.

      SLB Ben Jones and WLB Zach Woods combined to drop 13 points, making me very, very glad I traded for Darrel Riner, and signed OLB mentor Mercury Carey.

      In better news, QB Adrian Hermon picked up 7 points of current, 1 point of potential and, I think, another formation. Now, if we can just keep him healthy.

            How in the world can a guy drop -37???

            That sucks for Port City!

            Unfortunately for me all my guys took negative hits... at least the guys I were hoping would take a positive leap.

            Andrew Clayton my All OSFL Center lost -8/-8 this year dropping from an 84/84 to 78/78.

                Wow, JC Patton is a bust.

                Dropped 6 current points and 8 future points in his 2nd year.

                    Awesome work SkyDog. I was really hoping to get some help at WR in the draft, and I'm very happy to see my two biggest "breakouts" came at that position. Looks like I might have gotten decent value in those picks of Burrell and Williamson.

                      Well, my draft looks like shit.

                      I should of just stayed put and drafted Wilkerson.

                        So I gotta ask....

                        My 2nd round pick went from 23/59 to 13/40...and his ratings say he has a ZERO on strength (along with str potential) and a ZERO on endurance (19 potential) is he just a total bust? Is he worth keeping at all? Can he go back up to where he once was?

                            It's actually very easy using Change Tracker 2. It gives you a csv output of the entire league. I just opened that file in Excel, did basic formatting, saved it as an HTML file, then re-sorted and saved it as another HTML file. The legwork is in keeping your CT2 files updated. Those two reports took me less than 5 minutes from start to completion of the uploads.

                              I have never seen a 0/anything player become anything but a zero.
