Ah ha! Finally got one in more than a few minutes before the sim itself. Can't promise the same for next week's though, or if I'll be getting them out at all (I'm gonna be travelling all over the state for job interviews).
1. Morgantown (8-0)
Score: 1.486 Last Week: 1 In Game: 1
The Maniacs stay undefeated and atop the power rankings, but only after surviving a 3 point game against winless Brooklyn. Now the question we need to be asking ourselves, "Are they who we thought they were?" A win next week over division rival Gainesville will go a long way to answering that, but don't expect the red-hot Gaels to let them off the hook.
2. Memphis (8-1)
Score: 1.454 Last Week: 2 In Game: 6
A solid win over Ohio last week and the Admirals have closed within 0.034 points of the number one spot. A win next week over Port City could put Memphis up atop the rankings, especially if the Maniacs struggle again. Oh dear, I hope I didn't just jinx them. Nah, they're not playing Yuma.
4: North Liberty (on possibly overtaking #3 St. Paul)
"...a win against Yuma will look much more impressive than almost anything the Bandits can do in Chicago."
Yuma 31, North Liberty 6
3: St. Paul (On possibly overtaking #2 Memphis)
"...but a win next week over Yuma should be more than enough."
Yuma 27, St. Paul 24
3: Utah (7-1)
Score: 1.432 Last Week: 4 In Game: 2
Gee, with a lead up like that you'd almost expect Yuma to be here. Not if the Bees have anything to say about it. The defending champ's only loss of the season came against Anchorage, back when the Gladiators were beating everyone. Utah's got a showdown looming with Memphis in week 13, and a string of .500 or worse teams before then for a warm up. Don't expect Lochtefeld and company to get caught looking past any of them.
4: Yuma (6-2)
Score: 1.385 Last Week: 5 In Game: 4
The Aces have knocked off the #4 and #3 teams in consecutive weeks, but only move up one spot here. It's just too crowded at the top. Up next for Yuma, a show down with a still dangerous Bayhawks who a team they lost to on the road back in week one. The Aces have to win this game to stay on top of what has become a very competitive NC Western division.
5: St. Paul (6-2)
Score: 1.310 Last Week: 3 In Game: 7
Last week's loss to Yuma pushes the Bandits down two spots here, but still just ahead of division rival North Liberty. Next week's showdown between the two NC North foes could decide who gets the division crown, and who has to duke it out with Gainesville, San Fransisco and Las Vegas for a wild card spot.
6: North Liberty (6-2)
Score: 1.265 Last Week: 6 In Game: 3
The Enforcers won last week compared to St. Paul's loss and beat the Bandits back in week one, but are still somehow ranked behind St. Paul. How can this be? St. Paul simply played better football in the time in between, having outdone the Enforcers in the Performance Scores 0.499 to 0.372. Now the Campbell Soup Kid and company have a chance to put this controversy to rest at home versus the Bandits.
7: San Francisco (5-3)
Score: 1.191 Last Week: 7 In Game: 8
The Bayhawks manage to halt their free fall down the rankings here at #7 by very cleverly not taking the field last week. That strategy won't hold another week though, as they have to travel to Yuma and take on an Aces team hell bent on avenging a week one defeat.
8: Gainesville (6-2)
Score: 1.176 Last Week: 10 In Game: 13
Anchorage's loss, Las Vegas' bye, and turnover fueled victory over division rival Columbus all combined to help the Gaels move up two spots here. Gainesville is riding a five game winning streak but that streak has come against teams with a combined record of 14-30. Gainesville has played the easiest schedule in the league thus far with a OWP of 0.397 and that's counting a week one spanking at the hands of undefeated Morgantown. But the Gales have a chance to improve their lowly OWP this week, as those same unbeaten Maniacs are coming to town.
9: Denver (5-3)
Score: 1.642 Last Week: 12 In Game: 5
The Grizzlies ended their three game slide with a win over Kalispel last week and are back in the top 10. And with nothing but very winnable games between now and their week fifteen rematch with Utah, they look like they'll be sticking around for a while.
10: Las Vegas (5-3)
Score: 1.158 Last Week: 8 In Game: 10
Las Vegas drops two spots here without playing a game. It's hardly fair especially considering that San Francisco, the team Las Vegas beat a week ago, got to hold onto their #7 spot. But that's the way the cookie crumbles. If they Outlaws don't like it, they can take their frustrations out on the visiting Dakota Totems.
And the rest.
