I got two guys I think should be nominated for Defensive Rookie of the Year... so here goes.
DE Joe Mallow has more tackles (34) and sacks (5.5) than automatically nominated DE Keith Minning of Los Al (33 and 5). Minning does have more pass blocks and hurries, but if one of these first rounders is mentioned, than the other should be.
The nomination I think is a no brainer is that of ILB Damon Levine. The fourth rounder out of Iowa State is 1st among rookies in tackles by A MILE with 89. Although Levine even missed a game, he leads second place rookie Ken Vargas by 19 tackles. Levine is currently 17th in the league in tackles, the only player in the top 23 not to play all 14 games.Charlotte Knights - OSFL
