  • 1st Annual Renegade 18 (Non-GM Nominated) Awards

Good afternoon, I'd like to congratulate all of our current and past owners/GMs for making this league the most impressive non-NFL based league I know. In recognition of making it to five years and to kick off this year's playoffs, I'd like to introduce the inaugural winners of 5 of the non-GM voted awards.

    Starting off this year's awards:

    2009 B. Smooth Award-"Ball Hog Award"
-This award is given to league leader in All-Purpose Yards.

(15-1) Memphis Admirals, Kenyon Heflin(RB)-2533 yards from scrimmage.

-Kenyon Heflin is a machine with no season less than 1400 yards rushing, 2007 Solescemic OPOY and working on his 2nd, Memphis is the front runner to make it to the big game this year.

2009 B. Diesel Award- "Stockton to Malone Award"

-This award is given to the quarterback with the highest TD/Int Ratio.

(12-4) North Liberty Enforcers, Myron Allen(QB)-4.8 TD/Int Ratio

-Myron Allen has stepped up his game this season. After throwing 11 interceptions in 2007 and 15 in 2008, Allen has finally put it all together, throwing a league best, just 5 interceptions in 2009. The Enforcers hope that he can continue his exceptional regular season play throughout the playoffs.

    2009 S. Ully Award-"Kiss My Converse Award"
-This award is given to the league leader in QB knockdowns.

(12-4) Denver Grizzlies, Casey Vines(DE)-33 QB Knockdowns

Vines is probably the most feared passer in the league, on the league's best defense. Vines led the league in both sacks and qb knockdowns this year, making his ability to get to the quarterback for a sack or knockdown almost once out of every ten pass plays.

    2009 S. Tech Award- ".44 Magnum Award"
-This award goes to the OSFL Player with the most special team tackles.

(8-8) Anchorage Gladiators, Desmond Gougeon-37 tackles

-Desmond was a full-time starting corner for the Gladiators this but still retained his special team duties. Desmond did ok in his first year as a starter but excelled in special teams.

    2009 T. Omr Award-"The I.H.O.P Award"

-This award is given to the player with the most pancakes.

(7-9) Los Alomos Monsters, Trevor Fragomeni-14 pancakes

-Despite a down year for the Monsters, Trevor Fragomeni is still flattening opposing linemen. In 2008, Trevor recorded 11 pancakes, which was a tie for 2nd. Unfortunately, Trevor also gave up 9 sacks in 2008. This year, Trevor had a league-leading 14 pancakes and gave up only 1 sack. Trevor may retire after this season(13th year) as the league's all-time leading breakfast maker.

Hope you enjoyed the 1st installment of the Renegade 18 Awards and more winners will be announced throughout the playoffs. See you soon.
