Please Read!!! Offseason Schedule Problem

I just found out I have to go to Puerto Rico for a conference on May 5-8 (Mon-Thurs). That creates a problem because Mon, Tues and Wed are the 3rd, 4th and 5th stages of FA. So we have 4 options:

1) Change the schedule: I planned to take April 25-26 and May 2nd-3rd off but I could make the following changes to the schedule.

4/26 Sat Stadium Plan/Staff Hiring, Phase 1
4/27 Sun Staff Hiring, Phase 2
4/28 Mon Staff Hiring, Phase 3
4/29 Tues Ticket Pricing/Franchise Tag/Summer League (Draft Class Revealed)
4/30 Wed Round 1 of FA-1 (JUST Renegotiations)
5/1 Thurs Round 2 of FA-1
5/2 Fri Round 3 of FA-1
5/3 Sat Round 4 of FA-1
5/4 Sun Round 5 of FA-1
5/8 Thurs Round 6 of FA-1 (Last chance for Draft Interviews) -
Amateur Draft begins 10am EST Saturday (5/10)

So instead of taking off the 25-26 and the 2nd and 3rd, there will be no sims from the 5-7

2) Appoint another owner deputy commissioner and have him run the sims. That would suck for me since I wouldnt be able to submit a sim during the biggest sims of FA but I'm willing to do it if people want to keep the schedule the same.

3) Push the schedule back a week. For momentum's sake, I would hate to do this but I'm putting it out there.

4) Take my laptop with me and run the sims from Puerto Rico. I'm willing to do this too but the some of the sims may run late. Also I would have to install the game on my laptop.

Let me know your thoughts.

What if we remove the mid-week sim before the Championship game (if agreed by two reps) and then just move everything back 3 days?

Ditto. I can't keep up with 9 straight days of simming. I understand you don't want to lose momentum, but not everyone has the time to export every day. It would be one thing at the end of FA, but these are critical stages that will hurt our teams if we miss a few.

Ditto. I can't keep up with 9 straight days of simming. I understand you don't want to lose momentum, but not everyone has the time to export every day. It would be one thing at the end of FA, but these are critical stages that will hurt our teams if we miss a few.

I see what you are saying but under the normal schedule we never have a break between the first 6 stages of FA. The FA period was originally scheduled nonstop between Sun-Thurs (May 4th-8th). Now its scheduled to run from the 30th to the 4th.

Also, keep in mind that most people dont submit sims for the first 4 sims of the offseason unless they are hiring staff, designating someone for the summer league or franchising someone. Even if they are performing tasks, most only have to do it for one or 2 sims.

The only person who will have to do anything all 9 days is me because I run the sims. What sucks is that if this was during the season I would only have to miss one sim but because its the offseason, I would miss three.

I'm not trying to change your vote Andrew or Sully. Just saying that the FA part of the sim isnt changing that much.

I say, just keep everything the same, but take the Puerto Rico days off too. That way... no one gets rushed. We'll deal with it. Most of us our Multi-League people... we'll stay busy.

The problem is the draft. We cant skip the three days without moving the draft. The draft works best when we start it on Saturday because people usually dont have to work and have more free time on the weekends. We can usually finish the first round (the round that takes the most time) by Sunday.

I like Clay's suggestion earlier. If the two teams in the championship game are willing we can skip the midweek sim, we can hold the championship on Tuesday, April 22. We can start the FA period on Thursday the 24th. By the 24th, the non-playoff owners will be hungry to participate again since it will be almost a month since they last submitted a sim. We will take off the 29th and 30th to give teams a break after the renegotiation sim and take off the 5-7th and give teams a break before the draft.
