Motor City @ Ohio Valley (+3)
After an early season win against the Showboats in 2009, the Mechanics saw their AC East reign and playoff hopes end (for all intents and purposes) with their Week 15 loss to O.V. Ohio Valley would go on to win the AC East and a surprise Wildcard Weekend game against Denver. On paper, the Mechanics look like the better team, but the Showboats have proven the "experts" wrong time and time again.
Motor City comes into the season with a new philosophy on both sides of the ball. After an ill-fated gamble in switching to the 3-4 last season, the Mechanics are back to the 4-3 with an emphasis on showcasing their first round pick laden D-line of pure motor man DE Clyde Oliva, crafty DT Kent Cook and 2010 1st Rounder Jackie Patrick.
We expect the team from Motown to pull out all the stops in making one last great run at the OSFL Championship. With the legendary Kenneth Clements likely in his final season, running behind a talented, but long in the tooth Offensive Line, it may be win now for this team.
The Game: The Mechanics come in with three banged up offensive linemen, which likely puts the game in the hands of the defense. To be successful, Motor City needs to get to the QB early and often. We see a close, low-scoring battle.
