Nice bounce back from the upset loss last week. Hopefully I can keep moving in the right direction now with this team.

      GG Boston.

Funny side note, an unsigned draft pick LB came down with arthritis during the game it seems. Kid isn't even on the roster technically, but I can now IR him if I want. :D

GG Maryland. Heartbreaking loss for us, we complete an 18 yard pass to put us into comfortable Field Goal range to put it into overtime only to get an Offensive Holding call and put us back to the 47 yard line with 0:04 seconds left. Arsenault had another great game. Tough loss but a great game to watch.

Solid win this week. Offense really came to play. First time we ever threw for 300 yards in a game while I've been coach.

          GG Utah.

Kaplan goes from having the worst game of his career, to his best. Down 17-3 in the 2nd he went off:

2Q: 07:42 CHI - Trevor Tatum 66 pass from Desmond Kaplan (Clarence Worley extra point)
2Q: 05:08 CHI - Henry Rose 85 pass from Desmond Kaplan (Clarence Worley extra point)
            Tie game.

Struggle til the final drive when hit Alston for a 36 yarder for the game winner. The way that game started with our swiss cheese defense, I thought we were done. 2-0 and somehow first place. Enjoy this while it lasts.

Wayne Tankersley: 9 Tackles, 1.0 sacks, 3 Passes Defensed, 2 INT. Simply amazing. Our defense was absolutely studly, making amazing plays and setting up my offense to manage the ball and play smart. The team is playing well together, and exceeding my modest expectations for the year. Hopefully we can keep it up.

Wow, my team is really surprising me.

Boren and Hutton both have a sack in each of the two games. Westbrook and Tewkesbury both have a pick in each of the two games. Having Roger Boren back healthy is soooo amazing.

Warren Poland has been playing really well too, I hope that can last.

Hey I let you get the lead in the first half. Good win for us at home. Sammy Slade ran all over us but we were able to make a few stops when we needed them. Also, It looks like the Gales finally have a PR in Leo Harvey.

A lackluster effort for Yuma, but we get our long awaited revenge against our infrequent in state rivals.

Jumbo Clements got the start after I decided he was healthy enough to go, and he was harrassed a bit, but started really well and got us out to a lead that our defense was fortunately able to manage.

GG Tarcone, that team is pesky.

                        Gainesville 23, Portland 17

                        The Good
-Henry Andrews played like his normal self. He finished 17-27, 227 yards, 1 TD, 0 int.
-Sammy Slade is my entire offense (I guess that could be a bad thing?). 9 catches, 158 yards, 1 touchdown.
-The pass rush finally showed up! 4 sacks, 6 hurries, 2 blocks, 3 knockdowns

                        The Bad
-Gave up a game-changing PR touchdown with 33 seconds left in the first half. Might have to revisit my special teams unit.
-Both times Henry Andrews was sacked, he fumbled the ball.
-3rd down defense gave up 8/17. Awful.
-Could never get the running game going. 43 yards from Craig Price and 30 from Donnie Hadavi. Henry Andrews got 21 scrambling, including a touchdown.

                        The Ugly
-Way too many three and outs. Six of my twelve possessions only lasted three offensive plays, or less.

                        Upcoming schedule
-Shit. Current standing is 0-2 (both games at home), next I have: @ 1-1 Utah, vs. 2-0 Ohio, @ 2-0 Washington, vs. 2-0 Lake County. I'm not calling it a season now, but if I'm sitting at 0-4 going into that Washington game, I might try and shop some talent on the trade block.

I think the commish jinxed me when he picked me to win the division --- My new 3-4 defense isn't doing that well and 0-16 may be a possibility

                            I called the Chicago win.

Three TD passes of over 35 yards is just brutal. I knew my D was NOT good, but I thought that I had at least figured out the "bend don't break" thing. I thought I had the "keep everything in front of you" philosophy down. Not good.

Can't bitch about the O too much. A few turnovers... but some of that was weather. KC was decent again behind a depleted OLine. Jiz(mopper) was actually really good most of the game.

Nice game from Clyde Oliva wasted.
                            The Great One!

                            Too many rings to count.

Sedrick Thompson continues to depress with a 2.67 ypc. It won't get any easier as we lost our offensive line leader and all around best player C George Hamilton for 7 weeks. Also lost #1 CB and KR Heath Dixon for 5 weeks. I dunno. We show flashes but I guess we really are too young. Could be a tough stretch without those guys.
