  • Midseason Team MVPs

Who are your midseason team MVP's?

    Gainesville:

Defense: Kevin Brock OLB: 45 tackles, 2 sacks and 1 int. Brock gets this award for not only his performance but his performance compared to my expectations of him this season. I spent the entire offseason trying to draft and sign LBs to replace my old LBs but all the while I had a good one on my bench.

Offense: Phillip Lincoln RB: 335 RB, 4.6 per carry. Picked him up for a 7th rounder and he has been my best RB this yr.

    For North Liberty:

    Conrad Bronson(RB):

He held out for a much deserved pay raise this off-season. I paid him and he's played very well this year. Just a shade under 100yds/game (795 in 8 games). He's the reason we are 3-4 instead of 0-4.

    I wish I had a Defensive MVP....

Defense: Roger Boren, Rodney Westbrook, and Heath Tewkesbury. All 3 have been absolute studs so far.

Offense: Warren Poland when he's on his game is deadly, but sadly he's not very consistent.

        Motor City Mechanics

Offense: Billy Joe "BJ The Jiz" Jizmejian (QB)

Gotta be "The Jiz" on this one. After a rough start and a lengthy injury to Kenneth Clements, the coaches finally took the reigns off of Jizmejian and let him run the offense that he likes. He's responded with 3 straight wins since the KC injury throwing for 633 yards on 74% passing with 9 TDs and 0 Ints in the victories. On the season he's completing over 64% of his passes, for 1400 yards and 12 TDs against 4 picks. Just one game out of the wildcard race, where the season ends up... will depend on where "The Jiz" can take us.

        Defense: Clyde Oliva (DE)
Though easily my favorite player on the team, we were damn close to moving him in the off-season to load up on high picks. Instead, we decided to hold on and he's responded with a solid first half. He's wreaking havoc in backfields, racking up 6.5 sacks but boasting an impressive 16 QB hurries! With rookie Jackie Patrick (who has 14 hurries of his own) solidifying the other side, Oliva is left to pin his ears back and try to get into the backfield on every down. A no doubt All-Pro season and should get some sniff for DPOY.
        The Great One!

        Too many rings to count.

            San Francisco Bayhawks

Offense: Rico Whalen (QB) 2335 YDS 17 TD 8 INT 86.3 RTG

The success of this team is 100% dependent on the success of Rico Whalen. He started off with a few rough games but has really turned it on. He has spent his entire career without any weapons but 4 games into the season. We picked up WR Todd Bradford from Punx and he been exactly what the Dr ordered for good old Rico. He is the top QB talent in the league and his production is starting to replicate that. As one other league owner said:

Defense: Wayne Young (DE) 29 Tckl 8 Asst 2.5 Sack 15 hurr

This 3rd year former 3rd rounder has become a great run defender and is also coming into his own as a pass rusher. At the midway Point he has only 2.5 sacks but also 15 hurries which is one better than his career high. He always seems to be involved and is a big reason for the teams current rebound.

Does a 1-6 team really have MVPs? You bet they do!!!

Offensive: Grant Weber (RT) - 9/21 on key run blocks. No sacks allowed. Two pancakes. Started every game.

Weber had actually been under performing in Portland for the past three seasons. After a stellar first year campaign in 2006, the next three seasons his block percentage hovered around 25%, and he gave up nearly 10 sacks a season. This season he has easily been my best offensive linemen.

              Defensive: Wally Turner (DE/DT) - 23 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 2 blocks, 10 hurries, 2 QB knockdown, 4 forced fumbles

On a defense full of players who don't make plays, Turner, well, makes plays. He is the only consistent pass rush this team has had all season, and he has proven to be very versatile, being able to play DE and DT at a high level.

Offense: QB- Nick Pipkin 184-271 68% 1690yds 15tds 3ints ---He has been pretty lights out so far. He has the highest 3rd down conversions of any QB so far with 47.

Defense: Really it is the whole defense... after the craptacular 2009 season our "D" has decided to show up this year. We have gone from the leagues worst passing Defense to the leagues best, at least it yards allowed. Only allowing 174 yards per game at 57% Completion percentage. Big turnaround from giving up 274 ypg with a Competion Percentage of 65+%. If I had to actually single out a player it would be Mercury Baker with his 3 ints, and his KR game.
OSFL: Lake County Extreme 2008-2028, 2010 Champions
                BLB: Morgantown MoHawks
                BBA: Star City Shooters

I don't have one. Our mid-season awards have been canceled due to a lack of interest from my team... Much like their lack of interest in anything but getting their ass kicked weekly.

                    Phoenix Riders

Offense-- FL Sammy Slade. My offense goes through Slade.

Defense-- MLB Floyd Foug. He leads the team in tackles, 2nd in assists, ties for 2nd in sacks. Also, has a hurry and a pass defensed.
