It sucks to be an offensive lineman this year.

Love the selections of Provance, Cole and Palmer. Those were my #1-#3 on the priority list for 2.20.

Pick is in. We are really happy the FS Rich Pham fell to us here. My scouts had him as Very Underrated. He looks to be a real playmaker in the passing game.

Also, some real interesting QB's still on the board...

Filled major needs in the first two rounds. Wanted Sawle but happy with Donovan, even though my scout had him as overrated he should still be a solid player (fingers crossed).
                  OSFL -- Baltimore Bulls
                  Shiba -- Richmond Rebels

Ruining teams since.....well, a long time ago.

That is, if BLK picks soon.

                      • St. Paul still has not moved their 3.17 pick over to my team via the utility. Please make sure this is taken care of.

                        Thanks.

                          • Reports from Kalispel;

WR -Jason Reid (2-23) Very athletic . Will step in and provide game breaking skills at Wideout and kick returner. Runs clean routes and not afraid to play over the middle.

CB- Donnie Williams (2-28) Does not play in space well. Not one to get caught out of postion and is a sure tackler. Not afraid to play the run. Also a good special teams player.

CB was not a need but his teammate Leland Green was targeted for this pick but was chosen at 2-26
                            BLB- Seattle Reign

                            • Draft Report For Portland

                              1.1 - Orlando Bell - RT - Western Michigan - 6'5 320
Once the draft preview was listed, I knew Bell was the guy. While my team could use a legit franchise QB as well as a superstar RB, Sammy Dillon nor Sherdrick Allen were never even considered. Bell has the highest grade (7.6) of any player in the draft. He played RT in college, but his future is likely at LT for the Phantoms. My current LT is 81/81, 9th year vet, who can play RT just as well. This pick gives me two huge bookends on the line. My scout who is "good" with offensive linemen and "good" with young talent, says that Orlando Bell is "very underrated." Bell might be one of the leagues best players sooner than later.

                              1.7 - Lenny Prescott - WILB - Oklahoma State - 5'11 235
When WR Courtney Bensen went #2 and QB Sammy Dillon went #3, I knew I was going to land a stud defender or the top running back, so I just sat back and relaxed. Prescott will start from day one as my biggest need going into the draft (according to the game) is inside linebacker. While he played the 3-4 in college, Prescott will change to MLB for the Phantoms. Prescott had a grade of 6.9, third best in the entire draft behind Bell, and a kicker. From the MLB spot Prescott should be in on every tackle, be able to rush the passer, but he will probably just be average in coverage.

                              1.30 - Fernando Thurmond - DE - Georgia Tech - 6'5 288
This was my first pick with the help of the "popularity tell." Going into the draft I was desperate for a DE, and while I was hoping that Otis Reese would fall to 1.7, I was really glad that Thurmond lasted until the end of the first round. According to his combine numbers and his initial bars, it looks like he will be above average against the run, above average at pass rushing technique, average smarts, but he is very strong and should be able to cause a lot of fumbles, injuries, and just big hits. He also has a motor that doesn't stop. He will start from day one. I had to trade up from 2.1 to make sure I didn't miss out on this guy.

                              2.24 - Wally Fulton - FB - North Carolina State - 5'9 225
I don't have a huge need at FB, but I do at RB, and that is where Fulton comes in. He is a bit undersized to play FB, and I think his skills could translate well to RB. Fulton has a grade of 6.5, tied for 9th best out of all players, including three kickers. He also fits the "popularity" match with a mark of 77. If Fulton comes into camp around 50/75ish, I wouldn't be surprised if a move to RB has him around 35/60, especially if I have him lose a few pounds. Probably ending up in the 55-58 overall range when he is done developing. If I can land a RB that good in the late 2nd, I will be very pleased. If he can't make the transition, I will still get him touches by lining him up at RB. Plus, he is a great blocker and pass catcher, so he will still be solid if he does in fact remain a FB.
