We played a hell of a game but couldn't overcome all our injuries, losing our RG and RT in addition to all the other guys we were missing going into the game. I knew halfway through the fourth quarter that we weren't going to win despite our lead; we just couldn't push the ball those last five yards into field goal range, nor could our punter keep it out of the end zone. The one long run we managed to break in the second half got called back on a penalty. We did a great job of creating pressure and containing the pass game despite giving up completions... until that last drive. We played a great game! But Huntsville played an even better one.

A typical play-off game with offenses unable to impose their rythm and defenses holding on creating turnovers and incomplete passes in 3rd conversions, finally the Sharks came up big with some critical first down conversions in the 4th quarter and the defense did the rest.

Well, rats. Phoenix has a fairly BEEFY roster so I'm not surprised. My pass game was mediocre, and terrible later in the game playing from behind, but the real culprit was my terrible rushing defense. I know it's a weakness because D is the last stage of my team build so I'll be focusing there in the next couple offseasons.
