    WK2.2061 OSFL
    Game of the Week
    Portland Phantoms @ Dakota Totems
    Notes:
Portland is on a 10 game regular season winning streak and Dakota is coming off a 13-3 2060 season that saw them get bounced out of the playoffs early by very game division rival, CHI

    POR:
    • Big off-season additions of RT Sedrick Reid in FA out of ANC and CB OJ Craig in a trade from PTC
    • Heavy Pass attack
    Players to watch –
    Offense:
    1. QB Terrell Bryner – promising 5th yr QB. Cam Newton prototype at 6’4 240lbs, w/ scramble ability and good accuracy
    2. RT Sedrick Reid – one of top tackles in the league
    3. RB Jumbo Andrews – recent FA pick up, gives POR a solid power running option between the tackles to supplement their heavy pass attack. DAK pretty weak in run D on the D front, should have a good game if utilized
    Defense:
    1. LDE Derek Cox – young guy, incredible PRT. Lead the league in hurries in ’60, hard hitter, DAK needs to get the ball away quick to keep this guy off QB Rodgers who has had injury issues
    2. RDE Van Ottis – all around RDE, 2nd year guy w/ 2.5 sacks last week
    3. LCB Darryl Marte – has to play better, has a tough match up this week with one of the best receivers in the league WR Owen Borders
    Match up to watch:
    • RT Sedrick Reid vs LDE Jon Viano
*Viano is the man on this D front that can pose a problem for POR passing attack

    DAK:
    • Likes to play through their defense but in a rebuilding year on D after many seasons as one of the best in the league. This defense has to prove that they’re still in that category and this is their first major test
    • QB Jeremey Rodgers and WR Owen Borders have been one of the most efficient pass-catch tandems in the OSFL the past 7 seasons.
    Players to watch –
    Offense:
    1. QB Jeremy Rodgers – +90 career QBR, 2 time OSFL bowl champ.
    2. FL Owen Borders – injury riddled ’60, 31 yrs old but looking to get back to form. Only a yr removed from a 122 catch 1400+yd season
    3. LT Anthony Agin – solid, great production for a late 3rd rounder

    Defense:
    1. LDE Jon Viano – tied for #3 in the league in hurries last season, DAK needs this guy to have another solid season on D if they want to get past the 1st round of the playoffs
    2. RCB Damon Stevens – solid cb for DAK, needs to hold down POR WR Player in coverage, tough task
    3. SILB Nate Jackson – 1st game back from hold out, a little rusty. The general in the middle for this DAK defense. Solid in all facets.
    Match up to watch:
    • WR Owen Borders vs CB Darryl Marte
*Dakota is going to need to score some points to keep up with a solid POR passing attack, CB Marte was exposed last week against KAL and Borders needs to have a good game against him for DAK to pull this one out.

    Prediction: POR 27 DAK 23

Nice coverage man, looks like the Dakota D passed that test with flying colors.

Great post! I'm glad someone noticed all of Viano's hurries. Had a few guys like him that didn't get sacks but lots of hurries and I mostly just worry about general pressure generated.

I went HAM In the draft since my DBs are aging and fortunately got a couple good ones, although I missed on a couple I really wanted.

I loved Jumbo Andrews as a RB but he was a backup for me and he had a conflict with his position group. I had to let him go. Every once in a while I check in on him even though I can't keep him on my team.

Once he had enough playing time/starts to activate the conflict I had to let him go.

I'm not sure if I should be doing a full write up like this or a quicker break down and focusing on more match ups. My goal is getting in a nice week preview for Jeremessiah before his stream gets going. This took some time to do, and I gotta stop by the store and cook some salmon for the woman tonight, so we're going to do a streamlined wk3 preview this time around. Thanks for the good feedback fellas!
