ROOKIES!!! My third FOF multiplayer draft, and this time the Utah Bees' haul looks more promising than the last two..good, because we'll sure as heck need it.
1.24 - LT Willie Sidharta - 35/58 We finally got our LT. Willie will likely start from day 1. I hope maybe he'll even get a TC bump, because I was hoping for an elite player when I selected him. Somewhat pessimistic about that though.
2.23 - RT - Jesse Wagner - 28/41 Too much bench to pass up at that level, I'm optimistic he'll rise. If it's a significant one, it could mean another talented young OT goes on the block in Tyrus Hutton, or some shuffling around.
3.10 - ILB - Howard Cote - 34/45 A pass rush strength / punishing hitter bar phenom who I think could start from day one at SILB, but I might tap Benji Taylor for that role since the star vet needs to be on the field more. I think Cote's the future of my aging-and-sucky LB corps though.
3.21 - CB - Bo Stanton - 33/46 Last year's good size/bars CB I took in the 3rd round went from a 26/57 to a huge disappointment. I'm optimistic the same won't happen with Stanton, who is much further along in his development. Looks like I got my 5th CB.
3.22 - DE - Howard Foley - 16/56 I was looking for good size in a 3-4 end and he'll probably move to the left side. I hope the TC drop will be merciful. He'll probably come out 19/47 or something :(
4.21 - OLB - Cole Vinson - 22/37 Weird territory now. If he rises after TC I'll keep him, otherwise I might not. Maybe he'll move inside, his size seems more suited for that? Maybe?
6.09 - DT - Oliver Bastyr - 23/33 Ho hum; fighting for a roster spot. It'll be interesting to see how he does in TC. The guy he's fighting with was a modest TC riser last year.
7.08 - OLB - Bryce Gangi - 12/57 I don't know whether to be excited or not I got someone with these numbers in the 7th. He seems like a guy who's guaranteed to drop a lot, whereas a guy in in the xx/30's seems like a potential riser. He could be moving to WILB.
A look at some other rookies...Isaac Staat (1.4, SMD) is just unreal, and Burt Newman (1.10, STP) looks like a clear #2 at RB over AJ McGee (1.6, WAS)...barring a volatility-induced busting. Robert Strange (1.18, MEM) is the lone 1st round QB and could do very well in Memphis down the line. Back-to-back 3rd round centers Dean Poston (3.13, CHA) and Bob Benton (3.14, STP) both look really good. Edge - Poston on the durability, good call by Charlotte and I'm glad I didn't make that mistake.
I'm a big fan of FB Corwin Metzenbaum (6.7, WAS). CLB drafted a 4th round kicker (Antonio Bryant, 4.31) but the real stars seem to be Hunter Bauer (4.3, WAS) and Horace Galasinski (6.13, PHO) - a nice coup for Phoenix, I think, although they drafted another kicker in the next round...looks like WAS drafted the only punter in Myron Fennell (5.2).
This year's Mr. Irrelevant is RB Ellis Ballard (ANC) and it looks like he won't make the cut, but who knows? The #1 pick looks beastly (Nick Wallace - BOS), hopefully he'll be helping his team not pick in the top 10 for the first time since in like seven years. By the way, is it just me, or have none of the No.1 picks in this league been busts?

1.25 - WLB - Ernie Hou - 34/45 Not that worried about him coming in low for potential. He is already developed enough to start right away over guys I already have.
2.14 - MLB - Don Peller - 26/67 I expect Peller to be good, but 67? That would easily make him the best 2nd round pick I've made. I won't hold my breath.
4.25 - OLB - Marvin Kaplan - 27/53 A move to the inside increases his current and potential by two. I'm cautiously optimistic.
5.27 - WR - Heath Steude - 18/59 No way he stays this high.
6.26 - LG - Toby Rabe - 18/38 Sounds about right.
7.25 - RT - Allen Newsom - 17/28 Yup.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-

Tough draft for me, I was in the middle of travelling and internet was a little spotty. But honestly, after missing Staat, and already trading my #2, it wasn't destined to be a real 'impact' draft anyway. Still some good stuff.
1.6 - RB A.J. McGee 44/51 - As mentioned, Burt Newman looks to be the clear #2, McGee's initial numbers are pretty disappointing. That being said, I expect a bump in camp and he's still a huge leap over what we had last season. Day one starter.
3.4 - CB Van Friedgen 22/60 - if that 60 holds, this will be a huge pickup. Great bars in the three techniques and run D, not much else. Could be a big contributor, 3rd DB.
3.8 - RB Brett Cochrane 44/56 - And so it goes with RBs. 3rd round pick comes up with bigger numbers than the 1st rounder. Difference being, he'll probably drop 5-6 in camp. I'm seriously considering the WR move with him, looks good so far. In either event, he looks like a solid pick up in the 3rd.
4.4 - K Hunter Bauer 50/86 - I'm not a big fan of drafting K/P, but figured it was a safe bet given my travelling and lack of attention at the time. I didn't have either on the roster, so in effect, drafted two starters in the 4th-5th round. That works.
5.2 - P Myron Fennell 32/77 - See K Bauer, above.
5.20 - S Walter Pittard 33/56 - Pretty enthused about this one. Not a superstar, obviously, but solid depth in the backfield in a 5th round pick.
6.7 - FB Corwin Metzenbaum 32/44 - I'm glad to see someone else that likes Metzenbaum too. Not sure why his numbers came in so low, think he'll climb a bit in camp. Hope so, but not hinging my season on it or anything.
6.19 - TE Chris Bermudez 26/45 - Not sure yet, but I like the pick. If he doesn't look like much at TE, I may see if I can bulk him up and move him to OT.
7.6 - QB Danny Fulcher 12/42 - Doubt he makes the roster.
7.24 - DE Don McAllister 12/37 - Doubt he makes the roster.
7.29 - DT Gino McElroy 19/26 - Doubt he makes the roster.
All in all, pretty decent draft. Filled a huge hole at RB, drafted some good quality depth just about everywhere, and what looks to be good starters at K & P. Wasn't depending on the draft for more than that, so mission accomplished. Think the #2 for Skeen was well worth it.

1.12 Matt Jeffries RCB 40/49 - felt CB was my biggest need, bit of a reach but he can help in the punt return game if/when FS Colin Beason gets tired good rrun D and nice hig INT bar so hopefully he can get some pick 6 and be a game breaker, and if not just solid oppisate Dusty Dinh. and lastly he a ASU guy dont know if it helps attendance but hey couldnt hurt
2.11 Marcus Ramsey QB 14/50 - with the new emphasis on passing accuracy last years 2nd round pick Dave Haddad my not be the answer. Enter Ramsey a little small but a scrappy scambler and a roll out qb ( not sure how that works) and hell have a year or 2 and i may carry 4 qbs who knows
4.15 Rondell Starks OLB 30/54 - expecting a drop hopefully not too big. blue 40 and agaility time so he looks to be what he is a pass rush specilist WLB. and if the PD bar works how i think it does he should be able to catch those darws and misdirection plays with his great speed
5.14 Rod Fears TE 17/43 - nice size and he had 3 blue combines (sole, bench and pos drill) high volitility guy so who knows but good size and bars, could be a nice late round value
6.13 Horace Galasinski K 56/71 - so last year i drafted a P this year a kicker, with 4 blue combines, ive been looking for a K to do everythign last year i carried 2 one for FG an a KO specialist hopefully the "glass man" will be the answer......if not
7.12 Ken Grebene K 43/56 - so i cant lie this was a screw up, could be a pleasant accident tho better hang time than "glass" and more FG range it will be a fun duel in camp ive carried 2 kickers before

Charlotte Cougars
1.15 - OLB Robert Jamison - 29/43 - I'm thinking he gets a moderate bump. I sure hope so.
2.27 - CB Kelvin Strickland - 28/69 - I know pre TC means nothing, but happy to see this. Even if he takes a hit, we drafted him to be a nickel guy so he can "afford" it.
3.13 - C Deon Poston 30/74 - I'm fully expecting a little drop here, but very happy with this in the 3rd.
3.27 - DT Emmitt Richmond 25/44 - Not a position of need but with Freddie Renes getting up there in age, we could use a little young blood.
4.12 - OT Brandon Hodges 16/52 - I like Hodges and I think he's going to stay around this potential, or at least high 40's.
5.11 - OG Marvin Caldwell 26/46 - I hope he can contribute in a year or two.
6.10 - RB Kenny Prescott 16/30 - Thinking he can be a recieving threat out of the backfield.
7.15 - FS Desmond Shannon 18/33 - High punishing, high interceptions, decent combine. Worth a shot.Charlotte Knights - OSFL

Overall, we think this was an outstanding draft for us. Lots of potential value found late in the draft. It’s a little weak at the top as we reached in the first round, but if half of these guys reach their potential it will go down as an excellent draft. Factor in the topflight WR FA signing of Bensen and this offseason is really shaping up to be a good one. Now, hopefully we can have a good TC and start turning some of this potential into on the field performance.
1.27 - RB - Norman Barton - 32/46 I’ve never been good at drafting RB late in the first and I probably should have steered clear of Barton at this spot, but it was definitely a position of need. Hopefully he can be an ‘OK’ back for a few years while we try to find a long term replacement for Wesley Bornstein.
2.26 - DT - Wendell Parrish - 19/52 The first of two DT’s taken early in this draft for us. We have two aging DT’s on the roster who won’t be around much longer and they are just lunch pail type guys anyways. Parrish should be solid against the run, but will offer nothing in the way of pass rush.
3.25 - DT - Vince Morrison - 26/55 Very happy with this pick, our other DT. If these two develop to their full potential they can hopefully help fill the middle of the line together for several years.
4.27 - CB - Jumbo Brooks - 24/57 (19/61 after move to Safety) We drafted Brooks with the thought of moving him to the S position. He’s got the size (6-1 | 211 lbs) but also has the speed (4.49 40). If he develops anywhere near his upside this will be a relatively good steal for us.
5.26 - LB - Rich Johnstone - 19/59 Could be a real value here. Looks like an intelligent, run stuffing LB who can contribute on ST his rookie year. Exactly the kind of player we would hoping he would project to be and exactly what we were looking for at that stage of the draft.
6.25 - WR - Johnnie O’Neal - 21/53 We came into the draft hoping to add depth at WR, but we were hoping to do it earlier than the 6th round. By this point in the draft we decided to take a couple of flyers in the 6th and 7th rounds at a position of need, in hopes one of them would hit. We like this early projection on O’Neal, but don’t expect those numbers to hold. Still, if he develops into a 40s type WR that’s not too bad for a 6th round flyer.
7.27 - WR - Derek Kirk - 19/62 The second of our flyer picks at the WR position. He’s incredibly raw (6% developed), but we see some skills we like here. Obviously won’t reach the lofty high end potential number, but for a 7th rounder, we’re thrilled.Philly Freedom

Gives us something to talk about.
Plus, it gives me an idea if the pick is a "miss" or "hit" right away. For example, if you were really high on your first round pick, but he comes in at 35/45, you can fully expect him to be a riser. Also, if you get a late round pick with a potential of 50+, it's all but a guarantee that he will decline in potential after camp, but you have to feel good about the pick.
But, you can't tell too much about a guy until you get accurate bars + change tracker.Wilmington Wildcats- 2057-
