Rod McAleese is already making the fans forget the trading of favorite Sammy Dillion. In his second pre-season start he finished with a QB rating of 131.7.
Rookie RB Darrel Boulware toted the ball 20 times for 99 yards and last years pick at RB T.J. Spires added 14-78. The Stags look set at RB.
Ellis Collette acquired in the Dillion trade moved to MLB in an attempt to shore up a run defense which has been pourous in the last few seasons. Former 1st rounder Joe Durham moved inside to DT from DE for the same reason.
Also noticeable is the youth movement in the defensive backfield. Just a few years ago the Stags had the best defensive backfield in the league. Leland Ernst is just about to the end of his career and future hall of famer Steven Stone can't be far behind.
