So the last week in the season it ends like it started all 4 teams playing each other.

the best matchup is Denver Los Alamos, both teams got off to slow starts, for different reasons, and both showed they will make the division very intresting next year. Denvers youth has been served as they have 4 rookies in the top 5 for best rookie and the monsters Cucumber is finding his groove. both teams will be formidable next year.

utah has locked up the title and hosts Phoenix both teams are playing out the string here utah looks to get its starters some rest while the roders are giving their youth a look. if the bees win it will be their best win total in 7 years.

I think I can sit McCloud this week and he would still win defensive rookie of the year. He had another great game against NLB. No ints but he also allowed no catches - and he sat all game in single coverage.

Corbett has a "bad" game, while those around him in the race had fantastic games. It would take a miracle now for him to win defensive player of the year honors.

Our draft position improves slightly. I am estimating #7 and #10 overall at the moment. And good news - the St. Paul pick will be at least the #13 overall (but could improve to #4 if all the stars align). I will have to send something the other way for sure but I am not complaining.

Good season everyone and good luck to Utah in the playoffs...

I can't wait for the new season. Preliminaries show us having the #6 and #10 overall picks.

As for the defensive player of the year award, you tell me who should win:

        Bubba Corbett, SLB
        15 games played
        123 tackles (#1)
        6.5 sacks
        17.0 tackle % (#9)
        5 ints (tied for #6)
        81.5 pass defense % (2nd among LBs)

        or

        Nicky Wallace, CB
        16 games played
        7 ints (tied for #2)
22 passes defense (tied for #1)
        93.7 pass defense % (#1)

I think my vote would go with Wallace but its close. ;-)

The amazing thing is you are probably looking at your draft picks in this league and thinking, "Man, my picks aren't that good." *cough*fourfirstroundpicksincyflwith1.02and1.03*co ugh*

It is very close. I'd actually give the nod to Corbett here. I think he is more of a difference maker on every play, not just passes. A one man defense.

Thanks for the well wishes, and good luck to all in the draft. I look forward to hopefully not getting whacked like I did earlier in the season at the hands of Memphis.
