We just miss out on the top 3. Wrighster was a bit of a disappointment. I hope he can turn it around as he develops.

Shocking news! The FOF awards were handed out tonight and Denver cashed in:

-Bubba Corbett won defensive player of the year.
-Carlos Melnick won defensive rookie of the year.
-Melvin Brunell was a 1st team punter.
-McCloud was a 2nd team corner.

I guess FOF has no love for corners. It seemed like McCloud was far and away defensive rookie of the year. And Corbett wins over Wallace.

Well, his net average was actually fairly poor. I guess he won because his inside the 20 number was far and away the best in the league.

But I'm guessing that if I put some decent special teams players around him, that he could be pretty special. Oh yeah, and he is still not 100% developed yet.

congrats you have the next Johnnie Golden hammer enjoy the next 15 seasons of people having to make 90 yard drives

i didnt think anyone but me valued a punter enough to take one in the 3rd other than me

I just took one at 2.22 in the CyFL... But as Nutah can tell you that I had a ton of picks there. Some people did make the comment that I was crazy...

But I remember in the PFL, which had some pretty solid owners, that if there was a stud punter he always went about late 2nd. I have seen it rationalized this way: you are set at the position for 18 years. That's a pretty long time to amortize over.

And I know Brunell won me at least one game this season.

Yeah, Yoda takes stud kickers in the 1st round. Two seasons ago someone took a kicker with the 2.10 in the USFL. It will be interesting to see how things flush out...

I know if there is a clear stud kicker in this season's draft, I will take a long look it he is there at 2.9. Although I already have an ok kicker and do have more pressing needs.

On the other hand, a stud punter can't help you much if you can't stop the other team. No point in pushing your opponent back to his 1 yard line if he can push out 99 yard drives.

Yes. Every single pick was basically chuck's. Not even kidding.
