  • Washington Draft

    1.19 - LB J.T. Bromell (40/76) - Clear BPA for me. Sponable is on the wrong side of 30, and Enochs is a sidekick.

    2.19 - QB Austin Austin (12/65) - Was hoping for a QB in the first, but the dropoff was pretty clear after 1-2. Austin will invariably drop, but I'm hoping for 'not much'

    3.19 - DE Randy Staiger (26/44) - Perfect size, good combine, great PRS - I think he bumps.

    4.19 - LB Wesley Blades (25/58) - I'm figuring a big drop here. Be a nice surprise if not.

    5.19 - Arnie Cordon (25/47) - meh. Some blue, some green. Roll the dice.

    6.19 - Alonzo Kemp (11/37) - I thought Phoenix' lil' mascot of a QB was cute, so had to have one of my own.

    7.19 - Riddick Gibbs (26/44) - solid looking.

          I'm sure Oglethorpe will be a fine pocket passer, shirt pocket that is.

            Austin Austin Austin! Definitely one of the three QBs I'll be interested in keeping an eye on this year. Hoefully for you he only drops slightly. -3 or something.

              Perfect nickname for Austin Austin is "Austin." Make this happen.

                To show up well in the sole, it'll have to be Austin "Austin Austin" Austin.

                  Hm, I tried AustinAustinAustin, let me put it in, but shortens it by a letter after. Rats. Austin 'Austin Austin' Austin it shall be.

                  Looks to be the real deal, btw. Green as hell, but if he can gain a couple formations, he may be the day-one starter.

                    The disappointment of Austin wasn't terrible in and of itself, as it really wasn't all that unexpected. Overall, it was a pretty strong draft really.

                    1.19 - LB J.T. Bromell 40/76 -> 48/75 (+8/-1). Stud. Bromell-Enochs-Sponable is a pretty scary combo. I may even go 3-4 with Sponable off the corner. Yeowtch.

                    2.19 - QB Austin Austin 12/65 -> 15/57 (+3/-8). The even more disappointing part here is I put a ton of time on film study - and the big dummy still didn't learn anything new. With that TC and 7 formations, doubt he sees any playing time past preseason.

                    3.19 - DE Randy Staiger 26/44 -> 30/46 (+4/+2) Me likey. His bars look like a big ol' middle finger. Pass-rushing specialist.

                    4.19 - LB Wesley Blades 25/58 -> 28/54 (+3/-4) Not a disastrous camp, and bars in some good places. If I go 3-4, he'll be the WILB, and a solid one at that.

                    5.19 - OT Arnie Cordon 25/47 -> 28/45 (+3/-2) Not bad, he'll certainly be in the rotation.

                    6.19 - QB Alonzo Kemp 11/37 -> 14/32 (+3/-5) - Bleah. I swear to god, if I were in the '83 draft, I would've picked Babe Laufenberg.

                    7.19 - Riddick Gibbs (26/44) -> 26/48 (+2/+4) - Good camp, decent bars. Real nice for a 7th.
