MOTOR CITY MECHANICS
Round 1 - Pick 14
Joseph Jenkins
RB - East Carolina
5'11" 225

How do you replace arguably the greatest RB in OSFL History? Well, you don't really... but you have to start somewhere. The Mechanics burned a 2nd on Roy Ellington last season figuring the end was near for Cris Gardner - unfortunately, though we were right on Gardner, we were wrong on Ellington. That bring us to today and drafting of Joseph (Don't call me LeRoy because I hate nicknames in this game) Jenkins. Not the highest rated back by some scouts estimates, but we liked him and, to be perfectly honest, he reminded us the most of Gardner.
Not the fastest guy, but a competent runner who can leak out of the backfield to catch a pass or two. Jenkins will be looked at to start right away in Detroit.

Round 1 - Pick 19
Mercury Huard
CB - Utah State
6'0" 194

In a draft that may go down in history as the deepest in the secondary in OSFL History, 4 safeties and the 1st CB came off the board before the Mechanics made the call to Utah State's Mercury Huard. Not the sexiest pick in the world, Huard will come in and learn behind Joel Montoya in hopes of soaking up some knowledge from the 10 year Pro.
Huard doesn't expect to rate well overall, but he should do enough well to be a solid starter in the OSFL.

Round 2 - Pick 13
Archie Cassity
G - Appalachian State
6'4" 304

While the Mechanics fielded multiple offers for 2.13, in the end they trusted their gut and Scouting Staff going with ApStates Archie Cassity. Perhaps a bit of a reach in the early 2nd, Cassity shows the promise to be an elite run blocker in the OSFL. Though the Mechanics have gotten away from their run first (second and third) style offense that lead Cris Gardner to the Rushing Crown, this draft shows a clear indication that the Smash Mouth style may be returning to Motown.

Round 3 - Pick 18
Ernie Harden
S - University of Texas
5'9" 194

Hardin is a gamble pick for the Mechanics right now. While "experts" will argue against it, we feel like Hardin may actually play CB at the next level despite his lack of speed. He'll be asked to make the switch and assessed from there.
