    Pre-camp impressions

    1.29 CB Alfred Lynch 5-10 184 (40/59)

CB was a need and CBs were available. Still, I could not tell you why I picked Lynch here. Hanson had better combines over all, Koplitz had return skills, and Derek Hatcher was the only one of the four my scout didn't see as Very Overrated. (but then again I try not to listen to the cheapest scout in the league)

    Shoulda taken: CB Amos Koplitz

    2.28 QB Joe Fabian 5-9 210 (4/25)

Take Rico Oglethorpe's size and combine it with Cary Money's pre-camp bars and there you have Joe Fabian. I'm expecting him to rise in TC, but it better be one hell of a gain or it really won't matter. At least when Casey Baumgartner showed up to camp he was rated 4/34.

    Shoulda taken: RB Earnest Bixler

    3.27 CB Stanley Kieburtz 5-8 186 (31/53)

Panic pick here. We had already chosen Lynch in the first round, but as suggested above I wasn't really in love with the pick and we just missed out on Hatcher in round 2. Kiebertz is an undersized combine skipper who is looking forward to a big fall in his first camp. Despite all this he still has a good chance to take the place of one of the various 30's rated CBs I have on the team right now.

    Shoulda taken: CB Jay Tyrell

    4.29 S Sammie Cornyn 6-0 207 (13/26)

Another pick, another DB. After signing Norris in the offseason and drafting Ohalete and Cooper last year (not to mention last year's starters Lyons and Anderson) saftey wasn't a need of ours by any means. But Cornyn's combines in relation to his bars intrigued me. As with Fabian I am expecting a TC increase, but once again it better be a big one.

    Shoulda taken: S Sammie Cornyn

    5.28 WR Zach Hampton 6-1 210 (22/36)

In the previous 7 drafts we had picked exactly 2 wide recievers (in the 6th and 7th rounds). Hampton doesn't look like much here and my scout really hated him, but he only has to convince me that he'll be better than 25/25 rated Robert Tapley to find a spot on our team.

    Shoulda Taken: TE Clay Tuttle

    6.27 WR Wally Dernbach 5-11 187 (23/51)

Dernbach's bars are higher than Hampton's, but that just means he has further to fall. Lucky for him the bar for making the team at WR is low.

    Shoulda Taken: TE Deron Odum

    7.29 G Chester Garcia 6-2 312 (??/??)

Shoulda paid more attention to the tail end of my priority list. I had several players I liked more than Garcia who are still available (hopefully I'll be able to nab one or two as UDFA). Looking at him, I'm not even sure how he made my list at all.

    Shoulda Taken: G Gene Tatum

I had Lynch as underrated. I guess Hatcher or Fewell were both VU, but I think Lynch is one of the top corners.

Take Rico Oglethorpe's size and combine it with Cary Money's pre-camp bars and there you have Joe Fabian.
    haha!
