2036 Draft:
1.4 Sam Tate, S/CB South Carolina (46/79) - Tate will make the transition to CB and will start opposite FA acquisition Will Montague.
Preseason: Moved to CB 42/73
1.26 Terrence King, DE Kansas State (21/43) - King will get the opportunity to play DE with our lack of depth there. I don't know the ins and outs of FOF to know if he's going to be able to make it, but we needed DEs and he fit that need late in round 1.
Preseason: 23/40
2.4 Santiago Hoag, DT UCLA (26/44) - a little light in the ass at 6'1 282 for a DT, we'll take our time and move Hoag outside to DE and see how he does there.
Preseason: 28/42
2.22 Angel Shepard, G Florida (27/45) - a mountain of a man, the 6'3 315 pound will have an opportunity to play in the line rotation as a rookie. Projected as a better pass blocker than run blocker, Shepard is also a candidate to move to T.
Preseason: 30/44
2.27 Tristan Raines, S Texas (27/47) - in a revamped secondary, Raines will get the opportunity to see significant snaps at FS depending on how he does in TC.
Preseason:31/47
3.4 DeAndre Cash, TE Alabama (14/40) - with our first pick in round 3, we went with the big (6'6) target from Alabama. His scouting indicates he could be a decent blocker, and a solid but not spectacular, pass catcher.
Preseason: 17/39
3.12 Trent Jennings, RB Houston (30/38) - fairly developed for an incoming rookie back, Jennings looks to be a solid between the tackles runner. He'll have plenty of time to grow behind the tandem of Rufus Small and Lenny Kooistra.
Preseason: 31/37
3.32 Howard Manalang Jr, CB Arizona (19/43) - we were excited to see Manalang Jr still on the board with the last pick of round 3. The diminutive CB out of Arizona looks like he could be a respectable corner if he develops as projected.
Preseason: 22/38
4.4 Shannon Blades, S East Carolina (15/46) - another defensive back we were happy to add with pick #100. He's small at 5'9 196, but his bars indicate that he could possibly slide to FS (or even maybe CB) and will definitely cut his teeth on special teams.
Preseason: 17/40
5.4 Aaron Hoffman, K Louisville (35/69) - special teams is something that has definitely been neglected as we tried to clear the salary cap and talent mess of a roster once I took over. With so many picks in this draft, we're excited to add a talented young K to the roster. Our scouting says Hoffman could have a nice combination of accuracy and power.
Preseason: 32/58
6.4 Ross Dodge, WR Louisiana-Lafayette (16/23) - with so many draft picks and some depth at WR, Dodge will be a longshot to make the team on ST.
Preseason: 16/22
7.4 Carson Barnes, DT Houston (15/33) - a mammoth DT, the 6'3 333 pound Barnes will try to survive the preseason.
Preseason: 18/34
UDFA:
FB Todd Abrams 32/52
DE Richard Amos 17/42
QB Colton Clark 19/40
MLB Josh Lang 15/34
DE Rob Roche 19/32
