  • Las Vegas "Most Wanted" Outlaws

In Stage 2 the Outlaws attempted to improve their Def by signing LDT Solis, RDT Burnett, & S Donovan. Today we are proud to announce that Burnett has signed a 4 YR $51.3 Million Contract and will join LDE Miller on the DL. This will hopefully be a huge help in stopping the run. The Outlaws have said they hope to continue to improve their DEF thru FA and the Draft. Offensively Outlaw management hopes to find a RB in draft, possibly a vet QB and a developmental one in draft. Also it is believed the outlaws would like to improve their G's and C but cap could become a issue depending on a possible replacement for QB Sante & Boosting the Def. We look forward to seeing who is signed next.

The 2038 Draft is underway with the 1st pick already in the books. Early on we considered 3 positions QB, DE, & DT after interviews and the FA signing of of RDT Burnett we pretty well ruled out DE baring a trade. DT Hale we really loved him and had we of been able to also sign FA RDE Caldwell, Hale would of been our choice as we was thinking that this might of been the top DL in OSFL. So with our huge need of a QB we decided the grandson of Howie Mandel would be our man, we would of like to of seen a better 2 Min & sense rush scores. We fell in love with his position score & strength from combines. Skill wise we are impressed with ability to read defense, timing, accuracy which we feel is big part because of the high position score. We also was impressed with his long, deep, and 3rd down passes and hope this will be a huge benefit when we find ourselves 3rd and long to keep the drive alive. Hopefully we will be able later rds find a 48/48 to 58/58 G and C to go with our strong T's and keep our investment healthy.

I think so, too. I didn't want to really stump for him; the last time I did that for a QB at 1.1, he turned out to be about 40/40...but he was also Cary Money and had a pretty nice career in the end.

It's really hard to pass up a sure beast at a key position. But QB is another story. Even if you draft that stud, it's not like you've got the entire problems of the team solved -- you have to go get your QB. Maybe that's in the draft next year. Maybe there's nobody even close.

This guy wasn't the best looking QB ever. But he was a pretty strong candidate, and DA thought so as well. If you blow the pick, that really, really stinks....but you'll probably be back up here to take either a QB, or one of those other sure beasts, next year.

Today the Outlaws wanted to use the 4th rd of the draft to beef up the OL. The original plan was draft 2 T's and convert 1 to C and the other to a G. However with the recent addtion of veteran C light a 46, and both T's only being a 1 dev if converted to C. Management is strongly considering converting both T's to G's Kennedy LG & Page RG. Management hope this will open some lanes for our new rookie RB Erickson if he wins the starting job. Also helping protect Rookie QB Mandel. Speaking of Mandel the Outlaws knew he really had no weapons to throw too so in 2nd rd Outlaws chose someone they believe can do all 3 Catch, Run & Pass Block. Then in 4th rd we rolled the dice with WR Lamb. If all 6 rookies win the starting jobs this will no doubt be the youngest fielded team in OSFL. This will be a learning season no doubt for them, however by 2-3rd year Outlaws hope to be a major scoring threat. Other than missing out on RB Grim, & WR Meadows which we never saw going 1st rd. The Outlaws were able to get the people they wanted where we hoped to draft them. Now management will sit back and hope that they develop into the players we hope they can be.

Unless the QB is just a monster, I don't think I'd ever take one with a first round pick.

Sometimes you have to. The monsters are few and far between anymore.

And as competitive as things are you're unlikely to find a starter in later rounds. It can happen, but it's absurdly rare.

I meant QBs, should've been more clear.

Did he find a starting QB in a later round?

Your Las Vegas Outlaws have held a mini camp where we have gotten our first look at our new rookie class. Here is the following impressions we have.

1.1 QB Mandel: We was hoping to get a score of 75 from him and was very disappointed with a score of 55. This is still a improvement from last year. Also when I look at FA Gene Sante and his bars and a score of 48 I have a hard time thinking that Mandel's score won't raise during camp though I doubt to the 75 mark.

Score: 55 Grade: C+ because of being disappointed

1.21 CB Poole: Hoping the score was 68 but is a 58, which was the highest score of those drafted. We are very happy with this score and hope we don't see a drop. We see Poole as a major improvement and look for him as the starter.

Score: 58 Grade: B+ because of the huge upgrade he will be.

2.2 TE Rudy: We are the most excited over this pick we was hoping for a 60 but didn't miss by much. This is another huge upgrade for the Outlaws and we are just excited about Rudy in all aspects of the game.

                        Score: 55 Grade A-

3:32 RB Erickson: It was our hope to see 48 out of him. This could be our only real bust of the draft. We do hope he improves during training camp so that he might be a decent backup at least. We are still impressed with his speed though.

                        Score:38 Grade: C-

4:19 WR Lamb: We was hoping to get a 47 and almost hit it on the head. We see Lamb starting this year for us. Then in a year or two hopefully he will be the strong 3rd string receiver. We are very pleased with this pick

                        Score:44 Grade: B

4:28 LT Kennedy LG: We have converted Kennedy to LG we was expecting a bump in his grade and get a 58 out of him. We thought Kennedy would be the better player but we was disappointed he wasn't.

                        T & LG Score both: 42 Grade: C+

4:30 LT Page RG: We have converted Page to RG again we expected to get a bump but we actually got docked. We still feel he will be a big help to the OL considering much we needed help.

                        T Score: 54 RG Score: 52 Grade: B

5.30 K Davidson: We was hoping for a 65 when we drafted him, then when I got thinking about it later I figured he would be 52-55. So we feel we wasted this pick unless something major happens during camp. If someone was to offer us a 6th rd pick for him so they could lock him up for themselves, he will be in a new town.

                        Score:52 Grade: C

6.2 S Vines: This late in draft we did not expect much from anyone we would of picked. We needed most to fulfill FS so Vines looked to be best available to us. He may not get the interceptions but if he is just good enough to bat away the balls or lay down the big hit after a catch is made maybe causing a fumble once in a while he could be of value to the team. We hoped he would be 39

                        Score:36 Grade: D+

Overall thoughts on 38 draft. No pick hit the 60's that we made however we hit 5 picks in 50's 2 n 40's 2 in 30's. This was a huge improvement over last years picks and we upgraded almost every single position that we drafted. We may not see a huge improvement in W & L but with the upgrades also made in FA we will we will be a better team. In FA we feel we improved the following positions. RB, C, DE, DT, & MLB. It is our hope that the outlaws will improve to at least 8-8 this season.

                        Overall Draft Grade: B FOF7 Radio gave us a A- { Don't understand that }

Man, until the Ex-2 SIM all this ratings mean nothing... Don't get dissapointed if someone crashes... I usually do my Draft evaluation when they are in their last year of contract. Usually is when they are dully developed. In this last version changes of rookies and 2nd Year players are massive :)

Just giving you a heads up :)

Don't worry I won't get disappointed expected 2-3 bust I did the grade thing kinda like ESPN, Yahoo, etc grades players right after a draft. There is always players that step up and surprise you, do better than you dreamed. Then there are those that don't live up to the hype. I was overall very happy with our draft cause I do feel we improved the team some. Especially def the 37 season we lost a lot of games by 7 or less. So I tried to improve Def through FA hopefully this gives us a few extra wins. I do expect to lose if I face you shark, Also expect will lose to teams like Boston, Waco, Yuma just to name a few but hope they are respectful losses. Too sum it all up I am having a blast with this game. I really enjoyed the draft and the speed at which it happened. Also w or L I plan on staying here with the OSFL for as long as it runs, I also will talk smack even if we can't back it up lmao, that way when we don't back it up you can talk the smack back at me. This interview is brought to you by ice cold Michelob

He was never gonna come out at 75. Probably top out in the 60's. Def not the greatest 1.1 pick ever, but you knew that going in. You've got to have a QB and I'd be okay building around him.
