2039 Draft Review
At First look, Gainesville seems to have had a good draft this year here is a breakdown per pick coming out of the draft.
1.14 G. Bryson Mullaney 36/67, 42/61 (+6/-6)
This guy seems to be a stud for the long term, Kinda high everywhere except a medium pass blocking. Average Vol, he might come up or down a bit. We might have found a replacement to Perez's controversial departure.
2.13 T. Glen Fellows 42/61, 44/60 (+2/-1)
Our next pick was also on the Oline. This time we seem to have an other interesting long term project here. With 26 vol, we pretty much know the kind of player we will have: a solid run blocker who can get it done also on passing situation.
3.13 DT. Jerry Burns 25/47, 29/49 (+4/+2)
An oki pick without being outstanding, Burns will probably be a good depth player, a joker of a role player. Very low volatility, we know about what to expect, a jack of all trade with better run stopping.
3.17 C. Casey Reilly 17/49, 24/52 (+7/+3)
Third Oline in three rounds, this one is a project. If his technical bars can hold for a lack of physical bars, he might be useful to us. We will need to wait to see how he develop, but probably will remain a good back up at best.
4.16 CB. Norman Whitney 23/41, 27/44 (+4/+3)
He is an oki Corner, not spectacular but with little holes in his play. He will probably, in the long term be a potential backup to a good team or a poor man starter in a poor secondary.
5.15 RB Wade Garrett 26/47, 25/46 (-1/-1)
This one is a wild card. As much as he looks on paper better than Parker Johnstone we drafted in the second round two years ago, he might do the same. His 85 vol could kill him or lift him. He looks like a good two downs player who can bring speed to our game.
6.14 OLB Thomas Bates 17/46, 22/43 (+5/-3)
We don't quite know where we stand yet with him. He looks like a player who could play a role in the long term. Still his work ethic is questionnable and we dont quite know how he will develop. Still, he could, in the long run claim a starter spot.
7.13 S Joseph Hillhouse 17/47, 20/46 (+3/-1)
On paper this player looks like a good 7th round pick. Time will tell his real potential and skill on the field. Not the most physical player, we look to him as a more cerebral kind of playmaker.
We now need to wait for TC to get an new idea of how the players will show up.
