    The Outlaws have so far been very active trading acquiring a total of 12 picks so far eight of which is first in three rounds. GM Bowman Says he'd like to acquire more as it would give the outlaws the ability to move up and down getting players they have targeted on their board. T: George Lang a excellent run blocker but we were disappointed in come pass protection we traded off and replaced with FA T Oscar Lessard only gave up 6 sacks last season. Hopefully this season it is fewer and in this we picked up a 2nd & 4th rd pick.

    Another trade that was both a huge win & loss to the team was for the overall #1 in which we acquired the back we coveted the most in Hugh Schulz he has some developing to do but still feel he could have 1,000 yards rushing this season. The cost was our loss of Shane Lake that we feel was a stud WR problem was we had no decent QB that could get the ball to him and unsure when we might be able to find one we decided not to waste his career here in LV and let him play elsewhere and go with a RB that we feel can score with a line that can open holes for him.

    Prior to interviews the hope was to then get a QB with 4th pick but after conducting interviews we felt there was no QB worth that 4th overall pick so we traded down to 16th gaining two 2nd round picks we feel pretty confident of getting at least one starter out of the two picks or using one of them with the #16 to move up as we have 3 players we like and are willing to move up for one of them. If unable to do that we would then be open to move down again if all 3 are taken by pick 16. Only time will tell.

    GM Bowman says so far he likes how things are going in this draft & FA. Asked what are some of the main holes he'd like to address is he said QB,C,G,DE,ILB,FS are the main needs. We'd also like to find another WR to replace the empty spot of Lake but realize in this draft I doubt we find a stud. Lastly we asked with this many picks say you hit on 5 how are you going to resign 5 players in one year. His reply was I will have to really watch that to make sure we have the money to do so, that means doing a better job of planning for these upcoming contracts than we have done in the past. Not overpaying in FA will be huge part.

    { Stay tuned in for future picks and trades as they happen. }

    Las Vegas has been on the phone a lot after moving down in the draft to the 16 spot which was further than we wanted to move down, we decided to move up to to #10 spot costing us #1 pick next year but also gaining 2 early 2nd rd picks in which we had 3 guys we figured go in early 2nd. We felt good about getting at least 1 of them. At number 10 we took C Hernandez who appears to be a excellent run blocker we believe by his second season he could lead the league in pancakes and allowing Schulz to be a awesome back for us. It is not every year you get such a great RB & C combo.

    Now we had to wait for pick 2.5 and snag one of our next prospects on our board. Pick 1.28 We saw our 1st coveted 2nd rounder come off the board WR Mathis, The very next pick 1.29 we sadly watched DT Squric get taken. This left us one player left that we had targeted for our next pick but it was not meant to be as DE Lofton will be headed to Waco with the 1.32 pick.

    Now the phones are ringing again as we decide that with 5, 2nd round picks and our targets gone best thing to do is prepare for the future so we use the 2.5 pick and move down to the 2.32 spot and gain 2 future 2nd round picks, these could be used to make sure OL stays strong in future. We also have a trade pending with our 2.25 pick.

    Next we had a QB we had targeted for either late 2nd round or 3rd round, we figured he actually go somewhere late 3rd. The main formations he knows are all TE formations so with pick 2.6 we take TE Bruce who we was looking at for late 2nd rd but to if we are going after targeted QB we better get him someone to work with. Plus we really like his run blocking also. Main flaw he has no blocking strength, Hopefully in camp he gets stronger. Pick 2.9 we decide to go ahead and pull the trigger drafting QB Cerf, we know he will not be a super high yardage passing QB but if our running game works he will only have to worry about getting a 3rd and 3 type pass or most importantly, just don't turn the ball over. Our luck drafting QB's has not been to good and we know Cerf is not going to be some 75 or higher guy. However to us he seems to be a well rounded avg QB that if our running game is good all he will need is to pass for maybe 100 - 150 yards and protect the ball.

    What else will bottom half of RD 2 & Rd 3 hold for us?
