In hindsight, I agree. Hopefully Acid and I can come to a deal in that 12.5% range, which does seem fair to me. Easy for me to say being on the end that would receive further compensation, but I would still feel the same if I was on the opposite side of this. There is a reason the NFL uses that chart, I think, and it would eliminate a lot of guesswork and people being taken advantage of to try and come within something like 12.5% difference on trades involving just draft picks.

Even though I don't feel as though I was taken advantage of, being given only 78% or the value I am trading away is something I didn't realize I was asking for in the first place, much less accepting.

Oh I'm sure finances will be taken into consideration eventually. That's not an issue now because nobody's really had a chance to financially screw themselves yet. But that's a discussion for another time and place and I'm hopeful that teams can self-correct their financial difficulties by releasing players instead of being fleeced by opposing teams via trade.

Ok. Here's another deal we've agreed to:

        From Denver:
        2007 2nd round pick (33rd overall)
        2008 1st round pick

        From Los Alamos
        2007 1st round pick (6th overall)
        Washington Bats, 2013-

If the math has been done correctly (using the 17th overall pick as the estimate for next year's 1st). This is a difference of 70 points, which is about as close to even as one is going to get.

we agree and thank you for your kind consideration. Good luck to all. God bless.

              Um...did we miss this?

I thought Aaron was asking about why LA had the third pick....well this would explain why.

Well this just kills me. I dont know what to do because when we were notified about the mix up the draft was already over. I cant give LA Carlton Von because I dont even know if Carlton Von would have picked him in that spot/ Does anybody know of a way to add a draft pick for next year's draft?

The draft utility had Lake County with the number #3 pick. My game had Los Alamos w/ the number #1 pick and I couldnt find a thread showing the #1 was traded. I thought Andrew just imported the draft into the utility from the game so I dont know how this mistake happened.

I take the blame because I should have checked the utility before the start of the draft.

Nice catch Jistic. Not really sure how this happened. looking at the data I imported, it has Los Alamos as #3 so not sure how it go switched to Lake County. Also not sure how neither team noticed.

Nothing we can do now but chalk it up as a mistake on mine and Aaron's part.

What is a fair resolution to this? We can't exactly go back and do the whole draft over.

My suggestion would be to give Los Alamos compensation equal to the #3 overall pick in next year's draft. This would mean Lake County losing multiple draft picks though.

I have a solution in mind (pretty much Andrew's idea) but I'm going to let the owners work this out between themselves. If they cant then I will make a decision.

Yeah I posted this is the other thread about LA having the 3rd pick overall but nobody seemed to notice so I just thought I was crazy.

Then I did some digging, and DOH!

It think LA should get something out of this as they gave up a high draft pick to get a high draft pick.

Not sure how this happened, as my 1st rounder was accurately removed from my team. I never even looked to see what it was/who ended up with it.

LA will get something out of this. We just have decided what yet.

It was correct in the game. Something happened when the file was imported into the utility.

I don't know what happened... The draft utility had me as the 3rd pick. I just took over this team so I figured that who ever had the team before made some kind of trade to get a high pick. So what I am getting from this thread is that I really shouldn't have had the 3rd pick? sorry it took me so long to reply in this thread, but I wasn't making any trades so didn't view this part of the forum.

That's correct. You shouldn't have had the 3rd overall pick.
