It certainly *can*. However, in this case you ended up with 45 active, which is below the roster limit. And NLB ended up right at 46 active.

In the future, you can specify if you want the new incoming players to be active or inactive and where to place them on the depth chart :) Just make sure you actually have the cap space/picks etc to make the trade as proposed.

Note: the AI did something with the LVS roster because it was only 45, not 46. But it didn't sign/release anybody. I believe in this case since you were under the limit, it just activated a player. Had you been over the limit, the AI likely would have reorganized the entire active/inactives list.
