My 3rd Round (3.9) pick Vern Branch, who I loved at the time that I got him in the 3rd, had another great SIM and is hitting .301 with nice numbers all around in his first 41 games...

Funny thing about him that I thought merits a post... kid has 21 errors in his first 41 games. I'm hoping that it has something to do with being 16 and he'll grow out of it... but DAMN!!! Bill Johnson must be his mentor.

Ok, it might be weird to see a 1st round pick in the "Rookie Surprise" thread, but look at his numbers. I drafted him because I thought he could be a solid power hitter, but as a 16-year-old, that he would be a project. He hit 10 HRs in 48 games, and finished Single-A with a .927 OPS.
