Wow... I was looking at team budgets vs payroll and there really are only a handful of folks that can even bid on some of these $20 million dollar guys. I have to think that there are guys who will not be gone at the end of FA.

You know, I thought the same thing, and then I paid more attention to some of the customers. Not exactly the brightest bulbs in the pack, ya know? With their obvious obsession with the whopper, i'm sure they dont have much time for cable television, lol.Originally posted by Lintyfresh85 View PostYou know what I don't understand about that commercial? The actor they hired to run the register is a pretty well known commercial actor, the people should have known something was up when he was taking their order imo.

And there are probably people that did recognize the actor but Burger King isn't going to show those people.
They just picked the select few that were funny and had no clue.
That one guy that starts yelling, "Give me my damn whopper!" is the best. That's what I was alluding to with my earlier comment.Denver Bulls

I'm wondering if nobody meets their demands if they'll sit out the year? THAT would be funny.Originally posted by Clay View PostWow... I've seen that happen with some players in another league and they will sit.Originally posted by Jistic View PostI'm wondering if nobody meets their demands if they'll sit out the year? THAT would be funny.
Now they will lower their demands and from my experience they'll settle for less money in a one year deal in order to hit free agency again and cash in.Denver Bulls

If we have multiple big name F/A's sit out in their prime, that would be bad.Originally posted by YankeePride View PostI've seen that happen with some players in another league and they will sit.

The biggest issue is that even the couple teams that have enough money to sign two of the guys... they are going to, most likely, go after the same two guys and push their asking price through the roof.
I predict at least two players sign for $30.0 per this off-season. And I think I know which two.
Either way... I'm ready to get rollin'. I really want to see how it goes and who's bidding and who's passing. Might not know all of it tonight, but it will at least start to show itself. The Great One!
Too many rings to count.

So are you saying we should change the title to "That Burger King Commerical Is Crazy!"? Just kiddingOriginally posted by Sully View PostI thought this thread was about Free Agency?
I agree. I dont want to see a guy lose a years worth of stats over not getting a contract. I wonder if come the regular season we could have all interested teams offer one year contracts to Andrew and that team would get the guy? Any thoughts?Originally posted by Jistic View PostIf we have multiple big name F/A's sit out in their prime, that would be bad.

I agree. I'm ready to see this unfold. Should be interesting!

Latham will get his money. In fact, he's probably the most sought-after FA. Look at Rochester from last season. His demands were ridiculous for a guy his age, yet look at his production.Originally posted by Clay View PostI also wonder how sitting out a year would hurt a player's progression or fast forward their regression. A guy like Latham.... at his age.... if he doesn't sign this season, he could be done.

I would be, but now that I went from having $39 million to spend on player/staff back to $20 million, my owner won't approve anything else.Originally posted by Clay View PostSo... it looks like Baltimore, Dallas and Pawtucket are slinging the checkbook around....
Should be interesting...
